topic Going Paperless! in Home

I have been on a decluttering kick for about 2 years now and it's gone very well. I managed to part with lots of things that were not 'must haves' in my home. I have succeeded with my new '1 thing in, 1 thing out' rule, quite easily.

Yesterday, I got a scanner that is just wonderful for organizing all my photos & documents into my computer. I started with my pets vet bills/records and plan to scan my utility bills next. Now the idea is that once I scan these documents in, I can throw away the originals and live 'paper free' making my house even more clutter free! BUT... it just doesn't feel right!!

I am really struggling with throwing out the papers, even though I know I have them in my computer and can print them out anytime. It just seems so strange to part with the originals. For my kids 'life without paper' is the norm, but for me this is such a new way to be.

Anyone else make the transition to living paper free and if so, how long did it take until you could toss originals without having an apprehensive feeling???

My husband says it defeats the purpose to have the scanner if I don't toss the papers after their scanned, and he's right... and I hate it when he's right!!!
