Anyone Regret Getting A Memory Foam Mattress?

I've had mine for about three years now. I'm 60, and because it's almost impossible for me to turn over in it, I end up waking up at least 6 times per night. I think I've yet to sleep through the night on it. I'm really sorry now I bought into the hype about them.

By the way, before these issues really became a problem, the return period had passed.

What's your opinion on yours, if you have a memory foam mattress?

I bought mine at Costco (Novaform) and I could not sleep without it. I do a quarter turn of the mattress every week. Love it. If you buy at Costco, they will accept a return. LM

Hated it bought one from Bobs the outgassing inflamed by asthma and we were lucky to be able to return it

I got as far as soft memory foam pillows. Deceptive, first weeks, good & all of a sudden, muscle cramps in the back of my head & neck. Terrible waste of $$. Can't imagine what a whole mattress would do.

I slept on one 3 nights at a hotel. I would never buy one for the same reason, it was very difficult to roll over or turn around. I hated it. It was like you were stuck in one position. I also woke up every time I tried to move. UGH

I have a sleep number. LOVE that bed. Soft or firm as you want it and no trouble turning during the night.

We bought a Serta iComfort last winter. I don't have a problem rolling over or getting up. It's not hot. It's just killing my back. I can't straighten up in the morning. I did have back issues when we bought it. But this mattress just aggravates my issues and has made them worse. If you are a side sleeper, forget it!

I've had a memory foam mattress topper for many years now.
I wouldn't trade it for any amount of money.

I keep a mattress pad cover on it. That could be why some of you can't turn over!

We bought one several years ago, and it is rather firm (we like that), and while I can't say I wake up feeling great, I do feel better now than with any other mattress we have had over the years. My lower back feels much better, but sometimes my neck and shoulders hurt. I have tries a number of very expensive pillows as well, but can't seem to solve that problem.

We have two Serta Pillow tops and they are the best thing since sliced bread. Now as far as memory foam pillows, I can't take those. A regular down pillow is my choice.

Yes! Years ago we bought a Tempurpedic. We returned it after 24 hours. It felt like a rock and the gases coming from the foam were awful. I awoke something like 5 times with numb arms and awful neck pain on the night it was in our house. Awful! We bought a Sleep Number bed instead, which we've now had for about 14 years. It was perfect on day 1 and still is today!

Yes, I deeply regret it. Didn't know the cat didn't like the smell of it, so he p'd on it. Couldn't clean it, so it had to be trashed. Quite literally, cash in the trash. I'm still crying about the wasted money.

grammarqueen, I chuckled at your description of problems turning over on your memory foam mattress. I once had a physical therapist who came to my home after I had hip replacement surgery and was helping me do exercises on my bed (not a memory foam)tell me that she had several older patients who got stuck in their memory foam beds and could not turn over or get out. I guess it's true.

I have had a Tempurpedic mattress for six years now. Have no problems turning over. Love it! It solved my problems of waking up every morning with a backache. Best mattress ever for me.

lol...... Since my DH needed an extra firm mattress for a very bad back, after he

died,I bought myself 2 very thick memory foam pads ( I like extra soft) and I too have a problem turning over.

The pad has formed to my whole body ,but I sure do love it.

So does my little Maltie

I love mine so much I'd marry it if I could. It feels like a giant hug when I get into bed at night. I don't toss and turn anymore, I rarely wake up at all. Best purchase ever for me.

I've used memory foam pillows for over a decade, that's what prompted me to get the mattress. For me these are heaven.

After I had back surgery I bought an expensive memory foam topper. It ended up in the garbage. It hurt my back so bad, it had to be the most uncomfortable thing I've ever slept on.
