LED or Incadescent

I've been looking for a 5' tree for my family room. QVC has some incandescent light trees for much less than the LED trees. I want to have this tree for many years and am concerned that the incandescent lights may not last. The lights on my large tree is LED. Has anyone purchased a tree with incandescent lights and what has been your experience.

I had a 5-6' white tree with multi incandescent lights for several years, I would guess I used it 4 or 5 years. It was a spur of the moment purchase at Walmart, and was less than $50.

I never had any problems with the lights other than after the first couple of years, I would notice a single light burned out somewhere, never an entire strand, thankfully. I would replace it, and that was it. That continued to happen with a light or two each year until I got rid of it last year. The only reason I stopped using it is because it started to discolor from the attic heat.

I bought another 6' pre-lit multi incandescent tree to replace it last year, at Big Lots, cashmere style, around $60. I won't know about the lights' functioning until I put it up this year.

Edited to add--I'm referring to the incandescent mini lights, same style that has been around for decades.

Hello - I used to sell these things for a living. My primary concern would be finding replacement bulbs for the incandescent, and particularly, made in the configuration of the tree you might buy. I might say that about any pre-lit tree, bulb type aside.

I saw those trees, too. They are a good price. My advice would be to stock up on compatible bulbs.

I may put a tree up with no lights, this year. They can be a hassle. Or put a live tree, for planting, on the front porch in a wash tub.
