Question about LED lights and decorating.

I bought the prettiest ceramic pumpkin at Marshall's. It has an led light inside but there is no way to get inside and ever replace it or a battery. It was only $12.99 and beautiful even when not lit but I was curious how long a decoration like this will last. Since it's not on a timer I'm sure I won't be lightning it often. Thanks for any input.

Are you sure there isn't a way to get to it from the bottom? Say, a felt pad that is glued don, but could be peeled off? Maybe a plastic cap on the bottom that could be pried off when that time comes?

My guess is it's a watch battery and would last maybe a week of using it for a couple hours a day. I have a pumpkin from pier 1 with that type battery and it just about lasted a week. Of course, it died before Halloween and I had to get a new battery. This year I won't turn it on until the day before Halloween.

Thanks SHOPR and greycatsrule. I showed it to my husband and apparently there is a way to pry the battery out. He told me it takes hearing aid batteries?!

LED lights last for thousands of hours. You'll probably be tired of the item long before the light would ever need to be replaced.

Thank you Buck-I-Nana that is great to hear! Marshall's had a great selection of these beautiful ceramic pumpkins with cut outs that light up.

I would suggest getting the code number off the batteries, and looking for them on Amazon or Ebay. They are much cheaper than the ones you will find locally that are designated for hearing aids. The cheaper ones may not last as long, but the much lower price is probably worth it. HTH!
