I bought the lighted mercury glass pedestals a few months ago I had them on the entry way table. I moved them a couple weeks ago into the great room on a table against the wall with my sofa sitting across from the table. Every evening you cannot imagine how magical it is to look at them as they light up one by one. So beautiful and enchanting. Just wanted to share.

That sounds pretty moxie, what color do you have? What is on top of them?

I have wanted the silver for a while, may have to pick them up. I am not sure where I'd put them, I don't really have a space. I have some shelves in my living (great) room with some small candle holders, that I've been thinking of moving to a bathroom. I could put them there.

Do you find that they are very bright? How do you find the battery life? TIA.

My mom got the silver too, and hers are just beautiful. I got gold and brown, and while I love the brown, the gold leave something to be desired. I keep thinking that I just haven't found the right thing to use them with, and it will fall together eventually. The color unlit is just fine, but lit, they are rather anemic and just not rich looking at all. The brown look good both ways, as do my mom's silver ones.

I have some with luminara candles on them, some with Valerie's mercury glass brown pumpkins, and all have need of a candle ring of some type to make them look more "finished".

What size (diameter and height) candles are you all finding looks best in your opinion on the square pedestals? Marsha posted a photo of a 5" tall and 3-1/2" diameter Luminara with a candle ring, and I though it looked just right.

mominohio, I agree with you in thinking that the square pedestals are going to need something like a ring to transition between the holder and the candle.

moxie, Do you have the set of 2 square pedestals or the earlier set of 3? Your thoughts? I have both, and the set of 3 look nice to me without any sort of ring added.

QVC just added a new set of Luminara, H203265. I like them but only wish they were a set of 2 5" tall, and not two different heights.

I use them during holiday time and I was thinking that they would be so lovely with the VPH pedestals this year, on my table. I usually use an ivory table cloth and I think this may be a very pretty look for the table.

I do have some crystal pillar holders that I've used with the candles but I think that lighted pedestal with them would be so pretty. Then of course when the holidays are over I could use them with just regular candles. I saw some round candles at Target that I thought were so pretty, I bet they would work too.

I love the fact that you say they are elegant and cast a soft glow. That sounds lovely. Enjoy them!

Your thoughts? I have both, and the set of 3 look nice to me without any sort of ring added.

QVC just added a new set of Luminara, H203265. I like them but only wish they were a set of 2 5" tall, and not two different heights.

SHOPR, I just checked out the H203265 candles, and oh my! I love those. I like that rustic look, and have several Candle Impressions that have that same look. I could easily drop over $200 to get all the colors I like (but I won't just now!) And I think I like that they are two different sizes. For awhile, I was buying multiples of one size, and not getting a good variety of heights. Thanks for the heads up on theses.

And so far, I'm only liking a really tall and fat candles on these holders, no matter the brand. Perhaps the right candle and color in less that 7 inches would look good, but I haven't got it. I think 7 or even 9 inch looks good on these, but not anything less than a 4inch diameter.

I really like the rustic look and have many by CI/Inglow. These would go well with all of those I think. I also like the 360 degree scalloped top.

Where are you buying your 4-inch diameter flameless candles? I just quickly scanned some of the Luminaras here on QVC, and the ones I looked at are maximum of 3-1/2" diameter. I would have to find a good price to get any at all right now, but I do see some in my future for these square pedestals.

I have several older CI candles that are at least 7, maybe 9 inches tall and 4 inches wide.

Don't think I've ever seen a Luminara that wide, but they should consider making them.

I must have 15 of these Target candles in various heights. Some are 3-4 years old and are still going strong. They take 2 AA batteries and they last a long time b4 you need to change them out. They are the lifelike wick (I don't like the bulb type wicks). and the flicker is random-not flashing. I really like them. This particular size is 8" tall & 4" in diameter- in perfect proportion to the large bases.

I'm going to check out the Target candles. I agree the Valerie square pedestals need the larger diameter candles. I have some CI 8"" ones but they're only 3"" diameter and leaves too much of the silver showing on the pedestals. I'm not real big on rings on my candle holders but may need to use some. I do love those square pedestals.

They are the straight wax top, not the scalloped top. That doesn't matter for me, though. For those who want the scalloped top, I guess it would matter. I will be buying more of this 8" x 4" size. Mainly because I will probably end up with each color of Valeries square pedestals. I like them that much. Can't help myself.

I was finally able to get these. I ordered a couple sets on q and they were defective. Not long ago I got two sets on e bay for a really good price. I was scared they would have issues, but they were all perfect. Persistence pays. They work well with the square pedestals too.
