Buck-i-Nana, Thanks for the tip about using handi-tac ... what a great idea!! In the past, I have used suction cups attached to the candle, but they always seem to fall off the window.

I have really small window sills and I'm looking for a battery operated candle that will fit on my 2 1/4" sill. I would order the Bethlehem lights set (H193166) but looks like the base is 3". Has anyone else solved this problem?

there are plastic 'things' that fit over the candle with a round piece and then there is a bottom of the piece that fits under your window (once opened you slip this under the window and then close it). I've tried them, drove me nuts, but maybe they'll work for you.

The base is only 2.5 inches wide. Believe it or not, my sill are narrower than yours! I use a little handi-tac on the bottom to ensure they stay put.

Last year QVC had luminara with similar base. They aren't available now, but they sold very well so perhaps they'll bring them back.

ETA - OH, if you're looking for them now, you can find these on DutchGuard dot com

Depending on the finish/condition of your window sills, if you find bases that are just a little to big, you can roll some tape and put under the candle to hold it in place. I had to do that with some of my windows awhile back, and it worked well enough to keep them from falling, and if you are only going to use them during the holiday season, it might work for you.

Be careful to test the type of tape you use, that it doesn't harm the finish of your sill. I used box tape if I remember correctly and had no problems.

They used to make small L shapped plastic things with a round ring. You slid the bottom part of the L into the space between the sill and the window and put the candle through the top of the L where the ring was. It was very sturdy and couldn't be seen as the plastic was clear.

I used to use them. You can probably find them. You got a large pack of them.

Thanks gals, I have these candles that are pictured. I bought them years ago from the Q. They fit fine on my window sills, but they have a yellowish glow that is not bright at all. From the outside you can hardly notice them. I would like something brighter. I'm going yo try some of the suggestions. I hate to buy candles and find they do not work. Too much S&H to return. I need at least 16 of them.

MFitz--Like the ladies said, there were large packs of plastic strips with a circle on one end. I had them for my first house because the window sills were very narrow. You used to be able to find them in "five and dime" stores:

There is also another kind with suction cups to hold the candle to the window:

I have no idea where you can purchase them but I bet amazon might be a place to start or a store that sells Christmas items year round.
