I have Q's Origami, etc., racks. Costco has Gorilla Racks, a large configuration which holds 20 of the large 27-gallon black bins w/yellow lids, etc., selling for $400. They're showing them with adjustable feet.

I do not see that wheels can also be attached. I've read in various reviews that people have drilled into the bottom and put heavy-duty wheels, which is what I would want to do. I do not want stationary racks.

They also sell the same brand in a single vertical column holding five bins with wheels. Right now, both configurations are at a very good price.

Gorilla racks are made out of steel. They get very good reviews.

I'm wondering if anyone here has both the QVC you don't, you just open and put the wheels on if you want, which is what I do. I have two sets of those racks.

....and if you also have gorilla racks from Costco, which do you prefer and why?

One other thing, when they say a certain amount of weight per shelf, well, when you're packing bins, how do you know how much the contents and the bin weigh to know if you're not going over the weight limit for each shelf?

🩷🐾🐈‍⬛🐶🐾🩷

I have several sizes of Origami racks that I've purchased from HSN over the years. They came with a packet of wheels. In some areas of my house is used the wheels, but in others, just stationary. I've always thoroughly enjoyed the ease of assembly! (that is,virtually no assembly required!). The hardest part was getting the rack out of the box, since they are always so well packed. I would never buy any other rack of this type.

I had to call their service department once when I found that the holes for the wheels weren't drilled properly on one of the racks. They told me to keep the rack and they sent me a new one.

I am a rack devotee---some may even call me--obsessed 😁!! Have many Origami from HSN as well as the standard racks from AMZ---Some are on wheels others have the feet. I have very little storage and lots of walls so I go up with the racks. Have them everywhere. I like the colors of Origami and the sturdiness of the others. Think you pay more for Origami, but then they fold up.

Don't have the viral Gorilla racks/totes, but we chose the Origami. That's all we use in our garage and shed.

Ease of set-up, portability, very sturdy...and I wanted clear (weathertight) bins. Easier to make sure you're grabbing the right bin. Over time, we've found that sold bins that obscure contents don't work for us -- even when labels (fade or peel off).

Origami + clear bins work best for us! Good luck on your search. If you get the Gorilla, let us know how they are.

I like the lattice design on the sides rather than being completely open, which many models have.

Makes it somewhat more decorative versus utilitarian.

Just some thoughts: Gorilla racks are very heavy and just getting them loaded/unloaded/unboxed can be a huge chore depending on the size. We have a couple of the large ones in our shop and I would never put wheels on them. Actually, I don't think I could budge one if it was loaded. Wheels do make shelving a bit less stable, especially if you have more weight on top.

I have the heavy duty Origami shelf, with wheels, in our garage and I love it, but it's not loaded with a ton of weight.

Both are great products. Good luck with your organizing

ETA: Oh yeah, we have the 77" x 24" x 72" size Costco racks.

I've bought several of the heavy-duty Origami racks off of HSN and am very pleased with them.

First of all, I can set them up all by themselves and don't need to screw anything together. I leave the casters off, as it increased the allowable weight.

Also - HSN sold extenders for them: A set of two racks that hooked onto the main rack.

If you had 2 Origami racks, you put the extenders between them and now you have a span equal to 3 racks. Of course, you end up with two shelves in the middle, not four in the center but it gives you a good space for large boxes.
