Stephen's Unique Antiques is a fun blog by a very knowledgeable young Alabama antique dealer.

He gave a tour of a friend or customer's incredible glass collection, which is distributed all through his midcentury modern house. It's HUGE!

Stephen pointed out his friend's inspired combining of black, jade color, and "chameleon green". I agree they are a wow together--

I think he called this color "plum". It looks like Fenton. I don't know if the swung vases are Fenton. That color is so luscious!

Most of this below is Blenko, on a high shelf in the guy's living room:

Chocolate slag glass-- one of my favorite types of opaque glass. How neat that the collector even has a retro little "Fenton" sign identifying it!

Doesn't it look like all different shades of yummy coffee, from deep, to a pale, milky latte?

I love these baskets below, crested with a contrasting color. I have one piece of "silver crest", the pattern that is a clear glass edge on milk glass. But this dark blue edge and green edge on teal, so striking--

The colors are just like candy!

The collector is the type of guy who has to have one of certain collectable pieces in every conceivable color, like this adorable kitty!

He also has hobnail in so many colors, mmmm. Hobnail is so timeless -- I love it.

I don't know anything about iridescent glass-- would these rich, bronzey pieces below be considered carnival glass?

This delicate pastel grouping I think might have been in a spare bedroom--

While touring the house, Stephen would grab pieces that he thought were especially interesting or rare. This cased glass beauty, with its ombre exterior, is striking.

The collector is clearly very dedicated, and doesn't mind living with this many objects in view, every day. While I couldn't do that, I love to see his goodies, that he has knowledgeably curated over time.

If you like to look at glass, Stephen's Unique Antiques youtube channel is great. He goes to lots of glass conventions, antique sales, and brings the viewer along. And his amiable, Southern-drawled commentary is always very informed, and entertaining.

They are all so interesting! They are not for this lazy lizzie but I enjoy seeing them all and appreciate you sharing them @Oznell . They are beautiful.

The collection I acquired is over 300 pieces which reside in our wall unit & curio cabinet in our livingroom.

About 250 of them are Fenton Artglass. I'd say about 150 are vintage (1920's-1970's) with several also being antique...about 120 yrs old.

The rest of the glassware are other brands that are similar and depression era.

During the evening we turn on the lights in the cabinets and enjoy the eye candy.

BTW, several pieces in your pics are in our collection.

I attached several pics...

The 1st 3 pics is of our wall unit - 2 of the top center area. The rest is our curio cabinet.

Me too, @We rescue cats , would not want to manage his extensive, house-filling collection. But to see it all together under one roof, of someone who clearly does, makes me happy!

Oh, boy, @Susan Louise , another visual feast! What wonderful pieces you have, so nicely lit and displayed. Especially love your fan vases, your choice pitchers, your fanciful animals; but really, I love it all. You did such a good job of selection.

All together they are dazzling- no wonder you like to gaze at the beauty of such an enviable collection. I'd not be able to take my eyes off of them.

Ooh, @Susan Louise -- I just honed in on that sort of trumpet shaped vase with the hand uplifting it, wow. What is the color of the crest on that?

@luvzchiz I clean it all twice a year...Spring & Fall.

I remove one shelf of glass at a time. I clean the shelf...not with a duster, but with a damp microfiber cloth. Then I handwash and hand dry each piece. I don't let them air dry because there will be water stains.

For most this would be a nightmare of a chore. For me, it is pure joy...a labor of love.

@Oznell 'Black Rose' hand vase...made in the early 90's.

There is one available on Ebay for $175...

The one I found came from an estate sale.

Thank you for sharing. I love when people put their "collections" together to display them. My favorites would be the Blenko pieces because I am fortunate to have 3 vases and 2 sets of unique glasses from them. It is a fantastic company and worth looking into on line - all hand blown in West Virginia and they have fabulous "seconds" sales with really deep discounts!

@Oznell That is one amazing collection! The colors and different styles are gorgeous. So much eye candy and a very impressive display.

I had never seen chocolate slag glass before, it is very interesting. I like the owl and the little horses. I also like

the covered jar. The cover looks like a large piece of chocolate candy.
