Always in a corner when I was putting one up. I would put mirrors up behind the tree which reflected the lights!

BTW, that seaside tree is gorgeous.

My condo is open floor plan, living/dining room...one year did a real tree in a corner, by a side chair & window ...corner of living room, where ceiling slants down to the ground, creating a nook there. Pretty, but took lots of moving around of furniture. Since then have a bigger side chair, and in 2020 bought a pre-lit slim tree, that wouldn't have fit there anyway....I put it in front of the dining room window, head of the table, but that looks out into the whole living/dining space.

I also put a 3 ft table top tree in front of the couch, by the fireplace.

@silver Goldie That beautiful seaside cottage, shabby chic photo is right up my alley. Love that.

@silver Goldie Sitting here this morning with that image above, crackling fire YT scene on my tv. (Easier and cleaner than using my actual fireplace!) (which I'd love to replace with an electric insert at some point, and only because I couldn't do gas here.)

Anyhoo...love the vibe...IF I had that beautiful seaside cottage, this is just how I'd want it.

Mine is a small 24" one from Beth Lights so it sits on a small round accent table in front of my fireplace---no room for much more-- but when I had a house, the tree was in a corner or in front of livingroom windows. LOVE that seaside decor tree!!~!~

Beautiful tree, beautiful view!! I love the seaside themed ornaments and the pillows on the sofa!!

My tree is always in a corner of our living room but still can easily be seen from a front window and as soon as you enter the house.

@amyb We have a wood burning fireplace in our family room. Once upon a time we made real fires but that was many years ago. At one point I did get an electric fireplace insert but I would like to get a new one....one that has a crackling sound and also heats. Our current one doesn't have the heat option and it is old.

Same here...if I get it (so many other condo update priorities "on the list") I too wanted one with crackling sound and heat. I also wonder....do they have internal electric connection I assume an electrican has to hook up, or an external cord? I don't want an external cord coming out which I know some fake fireplaces have. Probably a dumb question since I've seen in hotels and restaurants these inserts with no cords.

If and when I get serious about doing this, there's many fireplace stores around me, I'll go in and see what it entails.

I love a real fire as much as the next person...but more than once (due to some slant on our condo roofs I was told by the chimney guy, and certain conditions with a downdraft) I've had some backdraft issues that created soot problems. Repainted in 2019, and since then, I don't even burn real candles anymore. Done with soot probs, painting is expensive, not wanting the cleanup mess, buying wood...just not worth it to me. Honestly, I've lived here a long time, and never burned it that much. I have neighbors who use theirs, with no soot problems, all the time. Not sure why mine had that issue.

Just got my new big Christmas tree yesterday and set it up in a corner of our dining room this morning (next to my dog's little house, for now).

I haven't decorated it and will probably leave it as is, I've always liked just a minimally decorated tree. It just looks more natural and magical to me. If I put anything on it, it will be clip on birds and maybe some pinecones for the fresh "out in the forest" look I love.

My other smaller tree is a pencil tree in our living room, also in the corner....

Put it in a corner once thinking it would take up less space, but I like it better it in front of the living room windows.

My tree is in a corner in my kitchen by the dining table. It's a 7 foot pencil tree. Like @GingerHead , minimal decorations, as in nothing for me. I got so tired of dragging all that stuff out of the rafters, so I plug it in and that's it. I do put the lighted angel at the top though. Works for me...candles in the windows, wreath on the front door and a small tree on my back screen porch. Easy set up, easy take down.

@silver Goldie If that's your tree in that window, I am insanely jealous of that stunning beachfront property!

Right? I just love love minimal tree decorations for the look and the ease too, as you said.

It just reminds me of a winter scene out in nature topped with sparkling snow in the form of twinkling lights only. Much more magical to me.....

@Venezia I was thinking of asking if it did something bad.

If I had a corner with windows on both sides I might do that, but no, I put mine in front of the dining room window. I decorate the dining room and the attached foyer, so that's out of commission until Christmas is over.
