Its the switch when you open the washers lid it makes the washer stop and start when you close the lid. Mine is on the right hand side where the console is where you select the cycle you want to use. If you Google the year your washer was made it will show you where its located. Different speed queen washers aren't in the same spot. But always in the back. Mine I didn't have to take anything apart. I was originally reaching the switch in the back of washer and holding switch to see washer running but that gets uncomfortable after awhile. And I have always loved to watch the washer running since I was a kid. Basically the lid pushes switch and I put something under the switch so you don't here it clicking when you open and shut the lid. I washed a comforter this morning and I had the lid up while the whole time comforter was washing. You then see how well it washes. Good luck.

We're actually getting a second washer installed in our garage. Lower level. I'm definitely going with a Speed Queen. I don't want to be limited with our water levels.

Even though we have a king size bed, we only use two thin blankets through winter, BUT, we do have other rooms with queen and full size comforters that will need to be cleaned periodically.

SPEED QUEEN IT IS!

It's been 3 months since our tc5 speed queen washer was delivered. Still love it and does a fantastic job washing whatever we put in it from regular clothes, blankets, rugs pillows. I did find how to be able to have lid open and see it washing. I have watched it from start to finish washing clothes many times. It rolls over clothes so well and quick. I have seen other washers on utube the the clothes hardly move .both low level washers and even agitator full fill washers that clothes don't hardly move much. Yes speed queen washers are pricey but to me well worth the money.
