Designer Antonino Buzzetta enhanced the charm of a Nantucket house.

My favorite area is probably the kitchen. Love the old school swinging door with porthole window, the fireplace, the interesting combo of sky blue tiles and navy door--

One thing I would change-- I'd have less of a grayish-whitewash on the beams, and less of a bleached floor. Warm natural wood would be my choice--

Great counter stools add a little texture and warmth--

Don't know WHY some pictures are blurry, sorry!

Most of the other rooms seem to be small but inviting, with classic traditional touches like the painted paneling and transom in this sitting room--

Snug but airy little bedroom--

Even the laundry room is adorable--

On the porch, he repeats that sophisticated color mix of a dark blue door, this time with a pale, "haint blue" ceiling--

Just to show a little of his other work: Antonino Buzzetta also renovated the New York apartment on Sutton Place, which you might remember from here before, of actress Emmy Rossum. I think it shows his versatility.

She clearly wanted an urban, old world, collected and European-style feeling, and he delivered--

Pink lamp is perfect touch on the strong, 'X' table--

Makes me think of a Paris apartment, in one of those great old apartment buildings.... He designed this nine years ago, and it looks utterly timeless.

Can he go modern as well? Here's a modern apartment he's done. It was just entitled "Crosby Street", which I'm guessing is in New York...

I tend to only like a "little" bit of modern in an interior-- this is way too "bachelor pad-esque" for me (ha) but think he's skilled within the style.

Even working in this 'cool' genre, he injects a hit of brilliant color--

I love most everything with the first house. Pretty and comfortable and not stuffy or pretentious looking.

That dining room in the 3rd house with the brick walls and huge mirror looks kind of creepy, to me anyway.

That little dog is so cute!

It does seem like he makes the style according to what his clients want and that he can create different looks and I guess that is a good designer.

I love the 1st house..It is so beautiful and I do love a fireplace in the kitchen....

The 2nd house I like the room sizes, and layout but the decor is not my style.

Well put, @on the bay -- that's the lens I look through when judging interior design for people other than myself. Is the room done well, according to the person's own preferences and value judgments.

E.g., none of the three houses here, are precisely what my style would be. But there are certain design principles that cross all styles, and the key, to me, is, are the rooms executed roughly in accord with those principles, so that they make sense for that particular style.

By that standard, I think Buzzetta pulls off some very plausible rooms, for very different clients.

The first home speaks Nantucket Island. It blends nautical elegance, natural textures, and classic New England architecture to create spaces that feel breezy, timeless, and relaxed.

The New York apartment has a European flair, with a blend of old-world charm, and curated elegance.

@Oznell,

I do remember you saying that is what you look at and can admire in a designer even when it is not your style. I can appreciate that too though if I was a designer I might have a hard time designing something I didn't like at all!

I'd probably want to keep making suggestions and trying not say wow, are you sure?!

Maybe for a good designer it becomes an art and how they can design exactly what their client wants that will make them really happy.

I do like to take things people already have and arrange them so they look the best. I've done that with friends and family.

Anyway, thanks as always @Oznell for these very interesting posts!

I love everything about the beautiful Nantucket home @Oznell

The colors are just perfect; love the different shades of blue and white. The only change I would make is the flooring (which you already noted). My favorite is the flooring in the laundry room! If it were a bit larger, I would spend a lot of time there, next to the warming dryer in the cold winter.The porch is lovely as well.

I love the Nantucket House. I don't mind the flooring because it is different than what we usually see.

The colors are pleasing and the flow is great.

The one thing that can't be changed is the thing that I dislike the most.....the proximity of the house to the street. I am not fond of houses situated so close to the street......I would love it if it was set further back.

The NY apartment is OK....I do love that emerald green sofa.

I definitely prefer his modern design in the NYC apartment. Obviously I'd change a few things here and there but, overall, I really like it a lot.

The Nantucket house is nicely done but is definitely not my preferred style. There are also some things I would change but the major items would be that dining room that you see off the small living room and the laundry room. Both of those rooms gave me a headache!!!

I think there was another house but I'm not remembering much about it so I'll have to go take another look.

The Nantucket house is so interesting.

However, I don't care for the cool white bleached colors in the kitchen.

I also don't like the fireplace in the kitchen. It seems like the remodel ignored the "presence" the fireplace gives and just shoved it off the end of the countertop. It would be difficult to appreciate it if you are sitting on the other end of that countertop,

Either fully commit to the fireplace or ignore it.

If I could live in the Nantucket saltbox and travel into town to my uptown apartment for entertaining on the weekends or whenever my friends were in town, could I be happier? Oh, but for the traffic. I do love the apartment's European vibe and I love the saltbox of the early American way of life. Can a girl lead two lives?

Just having a house at Nantucket would be enough for me!!! Love. The house is charming, comfortable and beautifully furnished and decorated. Even though it is compact it is so appealing and.the sitting room is cozy. The Sutton Place living room is lovely, the rug is a stand out as are the shelves beside the fireplace. I do like the chairs and the ceiling. I didn't care for the third place, too modern and not my taste.

Thanks for the tour of the three homes, Oznell, I enjoyed.

This looks like three rooms in one: a business office waiting room (leather chairs), a formal living room (blue velvet couch), and a boudoir (couch with unusual shape, shaggy pillows, dizzying fabric pattern).

All of these places are so interesting and different; the Nantucket House is true to its location, but the only places with enough color for my taste are the laundry room and the porch. The rest of the house seems whitewashed so I would need to add some color, even if a bit less subtle; I agree with your comment about the gray. The exterior reminds me so much of Peppa Pig! The Sutton Place apt living room is right up my alley. I would have to remove the vase on the mantel...it is a bit distracting. The last apartment shows versatility of the designer in giving the client what they want, but it just doesn't appeal to me.
