They're Back!!!!

Stink Bugs! All of a sudden. They don't scare me like other bugs. If they're inside I scoop 'em up in my hand, open the side door, open my hand and they fly away. No problem. But don't EVER get on my bed or my pillow. I don't mind you but there are limits!

I flush them. But, they have not been much of a problem for us since we got new windows about 10 years ago.

The only place I've ever seen them is at my sister's house in Pennsylvania.

@Kachina624 My brother lives in the Pittsburgh area...They are bombarded with stink bugs right now. I am on the other side of the state and we are dealing with those disgusting red lantern flies. They will be gone as the weather gets cooler...the sooner the better.

I'm in Pa. Haven't seen any stink bugs yet, but do have the spotted lantern fly, but have seen very few of them.

I am in Northeast Ohio. I thought with the coolness of the last month or so they wouldn't be so bad this year. I was wrong. I did spray the window sills last week. Perhaps it will help.

I'm in WV and have just dealt with finding 12 young black snakes in my basement over a 4-5 week time period. It's time for the big brown wood spiders to emerge and in another week or so the asian beetles will be here. Baby copperheads are born in September, so I'm on alert for them when I'm outside in the grass.

Yes, they were all over my screen door. I told my husband it's time to mix up a batch of the stink bug juice.

Oh no! Sure hope we don't get them again. We've had them twice, same area. Side door that leads out of kitchen to back yard. We have exterminators for 9 years now. They spray every 3 months inside and out and have warranty for termites (have stations). Called them the first time we had them and was told there isn't anything they could do. Eventually they just fly away but it's still nasty. Hope they don't come back....ever.

My office has a door that opens onto our deck, today that screen had a couple dozen stink bugs on it. koking now that it is dark they are gone. I wonder if they will come back tomorrow. . . . last year I spritzed them with vinegar water, that got rid of them.

I've been a Michigander all my life and now live in upper Michigan and have no idea what a stink bug even looks like. Never heard of them until I began reading these forums.

I don't know about them, but the lantern flies are just horrific! They are every where!!! Ugh! And some of them are huge!!!!

I'm in SE PA and the only nasty bug that I have seen recently was a big (with a very large body) spider creating a web by my garage door! The center art of it was so thick it looked like it was carrying a lot of eggs! UGH!

I always ask them, 'why in the world do you want to come in.?' It's a beautiful day and you've got the whole city to roam and fly and have yourself a good time. I just don't get why you want to come in my house. (No answer so far

The brown marmorated stink bug (Halyomorpha halys) is an insect in the family Pentatomidae, native to China, Japan, Korea, and other Asian regions. In September 1998, it was collected in Allentown, Pennsylvania, where it is believed to have been accidentally introduced.

The spotted lanternfly (Lycorma delicatula), commonly referred to as SLF, is an invasive planthopper native to parts of China and Vietnam that was first detected in the United States in Pennsylvania in 2014, likely arriving via international trade.

We have that brown kind in my state. They get in the house too. I catch them and bring them back outside.
