HUDSON VALLEY, NEW YORK HOUSE

It was built on the foundation of a very old, historic farmhouse ( that I assume was in ruins), in the quiet and beautiful Hudson Valley. Designed by Anelle Gandelman for owners with an active family, but still wanting a feeling of history. She was able to incorporate their own heirlooms.

Wish they had shown more of the exterior-- but they only showed the porch!

There seem to be two distinct sitting rooms-- this pale one with reclaimed beams and gorgeous fabric on pillows--

And this colorful one-- glossy lacquered teal fireplace wall is striking...

Love those charming sconces!

The other side of the room is a much lighter, robin's egg blue color, perhaps grasscloth...

Spacious kitchen-- but I'd have to have a smaller island. Don't like having to hike around a huge expanse! Great pendant light.

Love the simple elegance of this powder / bath.

Apologies to our "blue-dislikers" -- this house will strain your patience! But I love this, even the presence of wallpaper. The grandfather clock and the fireplace tile lend such personality...

Speaking of wallpaper, I always disclaim that it's not my favorite choice ( except in dramatic powder rooms). But this lavender bedroom with the positive-negative effect of wallpaper and curtains, is striking.

And even just a corner of this bedroom looks so relaxing...

Anelle Gandelman really has a talent of making "new", look vintage and charming...

Lucky kids! Angled ceiling feels like the hull of a ship, and there's plenty of space to play.

Every bedroom has a distinct personality, like each evolved over time...

This tucked-away little study, might be my favorite--

And that green and open setting is beguiling.

I really love everything about this home. I live in the Hudson Valley. My Father loved this style. While not this elaborate or big, he redid his uncle's home with this style. He loved and appreciated antiques.

I love this house. It is beautiful. Of course, I would make some tweaks, but all in all it is beautiful and I love the rooms and most of the decor......I am loving some wallpaper as well. It really can soften up a room.

I think just about everything is picture perfect. Adore the white and cream sitting room and oh that chandelier!! The blue option is also gorgeous, yellow and blue so pretty together. The furniture works so well in every room.

The dining room is my second favorite behind the white sitting room. The walls, chandelier, blue brocade chairs and gleaming dark wood floor are beyond. That grandfather clock is amazing.

Fantastic bedrooms, all.

The view from the porch is fantastic; the white wicker furniture in the first picture is just meh (my only criticism).

Beautiful house...my favorite spaces are the bath and kids room with the angled ceiling.

Of course the Kitchen is great along with the warm and cozy Study.

Beautiful home in what looks to be a serene setting. I am not a wallpaper fan, but overall great home. Can't figure out with kids how it looks so neat and tidy! I had 4 kids and whew...toys and cubbies everywhere. Talk about active!

I love that teal fireplace wall. They were brave to do that.

The colors are beautiful and furniture fits the home nicely. The only thing I would have to change is the blue wallpaper with dishes in the one bedroom. Just does not seem like a good choice for bedroom wallpaper. I do love the wallpaper but for another room, dining room or breakfast area maybe.

I love this home! There is not a thing that I would change. It's almost too perfect to occupy. I love the blending of colors and the subtle contrasts of colors. So well done.

Not much here that appeals to me. I do like the outdoor spaces and I could live with the kitchen (although I'd have to tweak it some). The first living room is just far too vanilla and then the rest of the house goes to the extreme opposite. While I prefer color, teal is just not one of them. All that wallpaper would have to go also.

@charsha I was also wondering where it was. I'm in the lower Hudson Valley.

I love blue, so I really like this home. I've never been a fan of a headboard being placed in front of a window, but perhaps that was the only workable floor plan. I'd love to know how much it cost to get the final look we see.

@Oznell @LIndaMJ @charsha I found out there are 12 counties in the Hudson Valley and this home is in Westchester County. I couldn't find the Town.
