MONTANA LIVING ROOM

If I had a mountain abode, would want it to be like this, with that view. Sure, I'd personalize, and add my own colors, etc. but to have a spacious perch that looks out on acres of trees and mountains, would love! Like that raised, rugged stone hearth too.

It's just outside of Bozeman.

Even though it is a beautiful living room it looks like the lobby of a hotel. It doesn't look lived in.

Certainly is a gorgeous view.

However, I would be feeling drafty all the time near that expanse of windows and the window coverings don't seem to provide heat preservation, privacy, or light control. Maybe there are hidden blinds or something.

I agree the decor is a bit hotel-like, but some expensive places like this have this more formal and perhaps European ski villa look rather than Western ski lodge look.

I like the contemporary vibe as usually mountain abodes are in the cozy but kitchy log cabin style.

The stacked wood would make me uneasy 😬 What vermin are hiding out there?

Love the view but agree with other posters re the furniture. A bit stark and cold looking, Not inviting. Maybe thats what the owners want! LOL

I like it but it does need some color? Beautiful view out the windows. I would get rid of the curtains. I would install blinds with a remote.

Thr only thing I like is the view. I find the room dark and oppressive. Not warm or inviting at all.

Cool view but the room itself and the decor looks like a reasonably nicely appointed but pretty bland hotel room and with not a lot of room to move around.

I do love the view and the room is handsome but doesn't have the cozy mountain vibe that I would want from a mountain home.

The view is spectacular!

I agree with those who feel the room is too dark, too crowded and without any warmth or charm. The drapes need to be removed immediately.

I also prefer a water (preferably ocean) view. Even though I prefer a darker room, this living room is a little too dark for me but it wouldn't take much to lighten it up a little.

Looking at the two stools in front of the fireplace, Montana pronghorns come to mind, with the furry seats and the legs in the shape of their horns. But thorn-like protrusions on the legs of stools seem like a bad design idea.

@Oznell Does the sofa completed block the entrance to the room or is that just the way it was photographed? This room is a hard no from me. Look at the way the wood is stacked. What a mess waiting to happen. We are using our wood stove daily in this cold weather and I couldn't imagine stacking wood like that.

I find the entire room very drab. There is so much stuff in there it is difficult to move around. I don't get the two stools in front of the fireplace.

I think the room has good bones but not a fan of the contents on this one.

I definitely need more color. A few colorful pillows and accessories would be more my style. The view is spectacular! Like @Kachina624 posted, I appreciate the contemporary vibe instead of the typical rustic cabin look.

I love the sleek fireplace. It gives it a more modern vibe. It’s cozy rustic with a modern twist. I’d do some tweaking, but all and all a beautiful space.

The more somber colors work, because the large window brings in a lot of natural light.

I wouldn’t have drapes at all. It looks like they have blinds that come up from the bottom. That is all I would need.
