Pretty DIY wreath.....

And you could make it using any colors you want. I like the white one and this turquoise one is pretty too and I even like it with the red ribbon. I'd never think to use red with turquoise but after seeing it I love it.

I think I'll try to make one....

@GingerHead I love making rag wreaths! I posted my first one on these forums last year, and you commented on it. I've never done a solid color, but it would eliminate the need to try to figure out which color goes with which. I did 3 seasons for my GD and then made them for myself too. I had to buy a wheel cutter and cutting mat, and a guide. But after that, everything was pretty inexpensive. The $ Store and Walmart have some good "fat quarters." Have fun, if you decide to begin crafting!

I don't remember your post but was sure it had probably been posted before because these have been around for awhile.

I was just browsing online at Christmas decor and came across the turquoise wreath first and was just kind of taken with the unique color combo of the red and turquoise and then started looking into it more.

I do love the simple, solid colors and think they'd be pretty in lots of different colors....I'm thinking pastel pinks, greens, aquas, ivories.....and on and on.

@Citrine1 Yes, I agree it does look like it would take alot of rags. It may be more labor intensive than I first thought.

@PA Mom-mom Since you've made them before.....does it take a ton of rags?

Is it more laborious than it appears? Just what am I getting myself into here? haha.....and do I really want to?

@GingerHead I was worried too. That's why I worked with the smaller wreath rings. I used 5 fat quarters and was able to get two wreaths out of them. So, the investment for materials was about $10.00 for two. The mat, clear "quilting" ruler and roller cutter were about $20.00. I bought the set at Walmart, but you might be able to get them much cheaper. I don't know.

To me, the most tedious part was measuring and cutting the strips of material. Once they are cut, you can sit and watch TV to knot them. I did them in half-hour sessions, taking about 3 sessions for each wreath. I'm sure someone younger and with less arthritis would be a bit faster.

Before you do anything, watch a lot the YouTube videos and bookmark the most helpful. You will quickly get an idea of how much material you will need and the different techniques used for knotting.
