CASUAL BAY AREA LIVING ROOM

It feels "unforced" and cozy. Am surprised, b/c the walls look to be pale yellow, not really my favorite. But it's rather a neutral yellow-- I'll pretend it's cream....

Pendant light, with tiny chains (?), also not my personal favorite, perhaps-- but is consistent with vaguely 'world traveler' motif of room....

Love: the way the sumptuous navy velvet couch picks up on the pretty blues in the Asian rug, the rug itself, sunny window seat, moody abstract painting, the many-sided coffee table, the various striped and tapestry-like pillows, earthy pottery, the clean-lined candlesticks made of some sort of stone, the modern white stacked lamp.

Intentionally eclectic, leaning a little into bohemian with that loopy floor pillow. Don't mind a bit of boho.

Sorta kinda my style, yes I like it because of the colors. I do not care for the style of the sofa or the painting.

While not typically my style, I do like it a lot.... bohemian, eccentric, world traveler describes it perfectly. I love the mix of colors and that blue velvet sofa is scrumptious (like you say)....

I also really like the creamy wall color and that pendant light is really neat, I would totally have that in my home.

Like the room, but the sofa not too much. It is a nice match with the carpet though. Could that painting behind the sofa be a Mark Rothko print? Could explain the vivid color of the sofa.

Far too eclectic for me. I prefer a little more cohesiveness. I absolutely love the sofa color but not the style.

Hmmmm... The frontal view of this "interesting" space presents an almost cluttered feel.🤔 I appreciate the light and airy bay window seating, and can see myself snuggled up there with a good book, and hot cup of joe, or tea!❤️ The massive wall art makes a BOLD statement; though not necessarily in a good way!😁 Although it is not my particular style, I think it works in a hip sort of way.👍

That's a traditional San Francisco victorian row how, like you see in the Painted Ladies houses. The bay window is 6 beveled panes, very distincitvely San Francisco.

@Oznell - Like you, I like the way sofa picks up the blue in the rug. I don't like the style of the sofa, and I'm not a "blue" person.

I like the rug, and I see a glimpse of a studded brown leather chair that looks almost identical to one we have in our family room.

Instantly hate that brown hanging light fixture.

The branches in the vase are too tall.

I like the navy sofa as an anchor piece with the dark oriental rug. Not a fan of the blue & white striped bay window cushions as, to me, they don't go with the darker sofa and rug.

@GingerHead , I also love the bold branches. And the decision to put them in the simple but dramatic clear glass vase, contrasting sharply with everything else going on.... little choices like that can make a room...

@mildoo , good call! Now you've got me wondering. The painting does have that "blocky" Rothko look...

Not my style. I don't care for most of the furniture, accessories, or colors. I like the bay window and the rug. My living room walls might be painted a similar color. At certain times of day the color looks a bit more yellow.

I like the mix of warm and cool colors. I didn't used to but this in nicely done. I'm with you on the color of the walls, @Oznell. An off-white or cream would have been much

better.

I'm not feeling this one although I can't put my finger on exactly what is keeping me from liking it. I know the blue velvet couch combined with the other blue accents aren't helping the vibe. As I have stated before, I can only take blue in small amounts.

I'm not one for color on my walls, all our walls are white, off-white or cream. (I was raised with them, so to me that's just the way it is to be.) I do not like the pendant light and the height of the branches on the table really deserves to not have the eye shared with it.

Love that window seat and the treatment of it, can imagine sitting there on a foggy day-it's defined San Fran. The rug's feeling and color is reflected in one of the couch pillows, what a great find! I don't care for the candles on the table, I would be knocking them over so would do away with them.

Love the blue for that setting but not for me, it would show every cat hair in the house!
