SEATTLE KITCHEN AND LIVING ROOM

I like designer Heidi Caillier, who strikes her own tone. Except, she's more fond of wallpaper than I am!

Her kitchens tend to be warm, not clinical--

Normally, hexagonal terra cotta floors wouldn't be my favorite look, but seems perfect for this kitchen--

And her color palette is a little different from mine, but I still find hers interesting and warm, within her schemes... She's very eclectic.

I think her style suits the Northwest, where you want to counteract rainy days and overcast skies... Love the way she seamlessly combines two different, but harmonious, window treatments here.

@Oznell Yes to the kitchen's soothing and "homey" colors, and a big NO to the floor. The floor reminds me of an industrial kitchen or food processing facility with a drain in the center. Also, I think the pulls are a bit much. The living room colors and decor are ok, but that fireplace surround has got to go. JMO.

@PA Mom-mom I agree with everything you said. The fireplace is awful. I do like the green in the kitchen.

While I like the kitchen a lot, it is a bit too much green for me, and I like the color green. I also do not like the flooring in the kitchen.

The Living room has great colors, but I do not like the fireplace surrounds....Does not go with the living room to me. The furniture is not my taste, but the bones of the Living Room I do like.

Ha, ha, @PA Mom-mom , I love your 'drain-in-the-floor' comment!

She's definitely an acquired taste. While I like the kitchen floor in that context, she will do other things, like the aforementioned small-print wallpaper, which drive me crazy.

I knew the fireplace would be a thumbs-down with our Home posters, especially combined as it is with more midcentury and homespun elements. She always surprises me and does at least "that one thing" which seems wildly incongruent. But I don't really mind the defiantly 'wild card' fireplace...

I am not a fan of wallpaper either. Been there done that. The pictures are lovely. Very warm feeling home.

I like the kitchen--clean, contemporary--not the living room, too much "stuff."

And I LOVE the kitchen floor!!!

I like her choices, especially the kitchen. I like how she mixes designs together in the living room. I could live there.

While not everything is within my taste zone, I do like the furnishings, especially the chairs in the living room, the window treatments. I love the print on the chair and hassock. With the exception of the kitchen table and chairs, the chairs at the island, I find the kitchen appealing. The terra cotta floor seems to fit in also. All in all there is appeal in these rooms.

The living room is ok...but I really like the kitchen, including the floor! No, I wouldn't put that floor just anywhere, but here it's beautiful.

It seems the kitchen island is too close to the counter. Not fond of the modern kitchen table.

In the LR, love the fireplace as well as the floral print on the chair next to it.

Don't like all of the wooden lines in the chairs or the ceiling light fixture.

Like the feel of the kitchen and especially the cabinets. Not a fan of the floor or the black counters. The living room is attractive, but the only furniture I actually like is the chair and matching ottoman in the corner.
