Anyone use and like Stanley Steemer for Carpet Cleaning?

We have never used them before, but my husband wants to try them next month for our Spring Carpet Cleaning.... They are very popular around here, so just thought I would get some opinions......Thanks!

@CANDLEQUEEN. I'd check some of the online review sites like Yelp. I've never used them but have heard unfavorable things.

I've used them a few times with good experiences. They will also clean upholstery and mattresses. Pricing was given before work was started.

I had to move everything, furniture, etc for carpet cleaning. Living room tables, lamps, went out to the patio before they arrived.

These are franchises so they are individually owned. Everyone's experience may vary.

I'm interested too. I have an upstairs office/loft space carpet that needs steaming. Many moons ago I used a local steam cleaning business that was good and reasonable (which NOTHING is these days!)...not sure he's even still around. I guess I'm going to Google in my area again, but wondered about Stanley Steamer myself.

I'm sure, like with everything, there's good and bad reviews, so that can get overwhelming. And with a national company, even more varied across the board. Sometimes, I ask these things on my town's Facebook page, and have gotten good recommendations for other things, locally. People there are good at giving specifics as to why they liked a contractor, company, doctor etc.

@CANDLEQUEEN Maybe try Facebook, if you are on there, and have a local page/group in your area...since that'd be specific to the actual Stanley Steamer you'd be using. Just a thought. But meanwhile, any feedback here might be helpful too!

I have used them, last time 6 months ago and will be calling them again for the spring cleaning. They did a good job. I moved all the small pieces of furniture and do-dads. Depending on the crew I found that some will try to up-grade you, this one did not. All I wanted was the cleaning, not the deodorizing or protecting. Cost for living room, dining room, hallway & stairs was around $160 or so.

I used them years ago and they were fine. I have since purchased my own carpet cleaning machines and find that works better for me since I have dogs. I also found it to be more budget friendly. I would check the reviews on line. You never know which office/location has different management or has been sold, etc.

In our previous home we used ChemDry and were very satsified with their work. Have never used Stanley Steamer.

I used Stanley Steamer multiple times when we had carpet and never had any issues with them. We only had to remove the small/easy stuff from the rooms. They would move the couch forward, clean, set the couch back in the same spot with a small styrofoam pad under the legs to prevent marks on the carpet.

When finished, the dirty water was emptied into a ditch line here, and they used our garden hose to rinse the sprayer and tank, and refill their holding tank. That clean water would start heating to be ready for their next job.

The company has a good reputation in this area of WV.

We got rid of our wall to wall as well. Have area rugs in many of the rooms.

I own a Bissell carpet cleaner, so I take care of them myself.... MINIMAL maintenance.

@CANDLEQUEEN I'm not sure where your "around here" is but in my neck of the woods we did not have that great of an experience. - Southern California.

1) Their price was high and we found someone local who had her own business and the price was better as was the cleaning.

3) I asked if they could clean a small throw rug, and was willing to pay extra. However, they said they would have to charge me for an entire extra room to clean it.

2) The carpet cleaners broke a screen upstairs and did not tell us about it. I didn't discover it while doing the walk through after the cleaning. It was a day or two later. We couldn't prove anything but we knew it had to be them. The entire screen had to be replaced.

I prefer going with a small local business when possible. Through word of mouth I found two great businesses.

I used them once and they were ok. Seems easy to get an appointment fairly quickly because they are a large company.

We use a "zero residue" company. I have never had to move furniture!

Stanley Steamer left my carpet very wet; Zero Res did not.

I've never had them for carpets but Stanley steamed cleaned my furniture and did an awesome job. I'm thinking of having them come clean my airducts .

I have not used Stanley Steemer personally, but have heard mixed reviews about them. Some people give positive feedback, saying that their carpets feel clean and fresh after having them serviced. Others, however, complain about the quality of work or the price.

Actually I have also used a Mom and Pop local company and I have found my carpet was left pretty wet also.
