Wow, that is a lot of color and pattern. But, I think it works in this room. It's beautiful. I can't imagine I'd be able to put together a variety that looks this nice.

I've always admired this kind of know-how. The result is more "visually demanding" than I desire in my own surroundings-- but, for the style it represents, this is a master class in how to pull off this kind of beauty.

@Oznell Yes, I agree. Very visually demanding and very traditional. Now if I could just mix this up with my cozy country it would be perfect. Ha! I'm trying but it's not easy for me especially with a big great room with pine vaulted ceilings!

The wall screen , is a perfect back drop that allows many colors in a room. No need to buy alot of new, just rearrange pieces from throughout a home

Very interesting with a slightly Oriental influence. The adjoining area has the same blue as the Louis XVI chair; it must be the key color used throughout the house.

Love the shade of white on that wall.

@Oznell I like the term "visually demanding". It can be used in a lot of instances when you know you don't like a space but can't decide exactly what you don't like. Often it's just over stimulating, and the term "visually demanding" sums it up perfectly.

I like it although it is not something I could ever create. It must have been done by someone with a real flair with design and they did it very well.

I love the fact this room has color. Most of the patterns used are ones I'm not particularly fond of and don't feel they compliment one another either. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the comment, @faeriemoon . Yeah, I do prefer that to the blanketing term "cluttered", which gets used so often, and is not that descriptive. "Cluttered" can get applied to a hoarder's lifetime of choking refuse, but also gets used to describe the exquisite, ordered ( but plentiful) arrangements of a dedicated and expert collector. In that case, I find the term subjective, and often just wrong.

The way I see it, we all have our thresholds of what we can handle, visually, in our surroundings-- some like more, some like less. I tend to fall in the middle, but I can find value and appeal in the thresholds of those who like a little more, or a little less!

I love the use of color and patterns but the style is too ornate and formal for me. There is some Asian influence which isn’t my style either.
