She is going to college. Teach her how to do laundry if you haven't and let go. College is about doing these things for yourself and growing into an adult as it about classes and tests. She will be fine doing her laundry and making the decision for herself.

My granddaughters are both in college. They buy their laundry detergent locally as they need it. I know they both use a liquid detergent...their choice.

My husband and I travel in our RV and we take a small lock and lock container of Nellie's Laundry Soda with us. It only takes a small scoop for each load and is easy to travel with. It's not heavy and I have very little to lug around.

I also have purchased and used the Earth Breeze laundy sheets in the unscented formulation to help with both my and my granddaughter's sensitive skin. I can say that they do work nicely. If you have a smaller load then half a sheet is good. For larger loads you use a full sheet. They leave no residue of any sort on the clothes when coming out of the washer. And they clean well- I saw no difference in cleaning power between these and Tide pods. If carrying large boxes of laundry detergent is an issue for you then these would certainly help.
