Something about this struck me as very cozy, with its luxurious window seat and vintage rug. I think designer Shayelyn Woodbery sounded a very nice note-- enough of the wood wainscoting is painted, so the room is light and not oppressive-- but the gorgeous, massive hearth brings all the "wood character".

Pretty kitchen, too.

While rust or burnt orange is not a fave of mine, I do think it's effective the way she brought the warmth of that accent color from the living room, through to the cheerful dining room..

Love the airy, vintage feeling of the bathroom--

It appears that, the only area where the deep, original wood paneling dominates, is the entry. That makes sense to me-- it's a room that you are travelling through to other rooms, so the darkness would not feel "heavy" as it would in a room you'd spend a lot of time in. But it faithfully preserves some of the original atmosphere of the house...

I like some of it, but I'd take down all those butterflies in the last 2 pics.

And, I'm not sure about those "fur" stools in the 2nd pic. If they're real, they're a no for me.

I like the dark entryway.

The entryway is beautiful and my favorite of the rooms. The living room is lovely, the window seat appealing and the fireplace and artwork above beautiful.

I love the solarium with the beautiful bouquet of gerbera daisies.

I would remove the butterflies in hopes of seeing real ones outside the windows

@Oznell , am I the only one that does not like that dark gloomy fireplace? Or the mural (is it a mural?) above it. It is so big, it makes the room gloomy to me. I find the entryway too dark also.

The amount of open shelving I'd also a big no for me, especially in a kitchen.

Love everything else.

Beautiful home..I would have to change the heavy drapes, the art, and remove several items in the Living Room.

Easy changes to make this my personal style.

Its a beautiful home, but I would get rid of the Artwork-none of it appeals to me, and also some of the furniture in the Living Room as well. I think the home is tastefully done though!

The entryway is gorgeous and is my favorite room in the house followed by the living room (although I'd tweak a few things in there).

I agree with @Kachina624, the main Craftsman influence is in the entry way; there is also a small window over the bed.

Not a fan of the overall darkness or the autumn influences in the use of colors.

I don't care for the Duncan Phyfe furniture in the entry (table). I never cared for the shape of the Sheraton chairs in the dinning room.

Never a fan of open kitchen shelving.

On a positive, the home is well balanced and has a good color flow.

There is an interesting small antique chair in the entry on the right.

I like most of the design, furnishings, accessories, and color choices in this home. Love the living room best! The bedroom is very nice too. The dark entryway looks rich, and the light solarium is very pretty.

The dining room is ok. I like the table and chairs, but not the drapes and artwork. I don't like open shelving in a kitchen. Just not practical IMO. I also don't like old fashioned free standing tubs. I prefer something more modern and practical.

Craftsman is my absolute favorite style! I am not a proponent of painting all that beautiful original woodwork. I would of found some other way to bring light into those beautiful old rooms. I like the kitchen remodel, but could never live without upper cabinets. Otherwise, I'm in!❤

@NEvans2 , It's great to hear from those drawn to this style. I was hoping that someone might allude to the always-ongoing debate among Craftsman fans about whether to "lighten" classic Craftsman houses, or not. Thanks to you and some others for addressing it!

I do understand the feeling of many that the wood should not be tampered with. Personally, I love mellow, old wood, and old patinas. However, a very dark "fumed oak" type of finish, I would find difficult to live with, were it all through the house. And the oak of course darkened over the years, from the color it was when many of the houses were first built. So, I kind of like the route that this designer took-- painting some, but also leaving some, in the form of the entry, and that fabulous original fireplace. That hearth especially, has so much soul.
