I was recalling the past shows on the Q.

Tht awful Capidamonte which buyers went ape to purchase. It was learned it was not as genuine as believed. Never liked that stuff.

There were gold shows that had fake items as well. Lots of stuff no longer sold on the Q and I don't wonder why. Younger folks don't want the cutsie stuff and collectables along with many traditional items. A bygone era never to return.

@Puzzle Piece. I remember Capidamonte being sold on HSN. QVC was busy selling many of those glass vases and they both sold tons of dolls.

I think @Kachina624 is right. Didn't the Q sell Fenton Art Glass?

I was in college back then and couldn't afford any of it. Makes me happy I was never a collector of anything. 😊

I remember SteveColentuno selling Capodimonte on QVC . It would always make me laugh because he would look down at the piece and then look up like he was stunned by the beauty of the thing. LOL

I still have Capidimonte pieces in my home,and don't feel it was junk. Who ever made them they were beautiful pieces.

I remember those days, but don't remember any fake stuff being sold by QVC.

Remember Pat's Once in a Lifetime 18k gold shows? She'd wear a beautiful formal gown and the had a guy playing nice music live on piano.

One evening as the show started, they announced he'd been killed in an auto accident on his way to the studio. Everyone was in tears....a very difficult show.

Also teddy bears in addition to dolls. Gund, Steiff, and Vermont Teddy Bears among a few others. I remember the Gund rep, Gary. He was very funny with Mary Beth; she was his straight man.

Capodimonte was definitely sold on the Q. It might have been sold on HSN too but I rarely watched HSN back then so I wouldn't know that. A former Q host that I follow on Facebook has posted about Capodimonte before.

OMG i was just looking at the capidimonte pieces I had bought my mom back in the day. I was thinking, is this suff junk or worth keeping....IDK

It was sold by QVC, I agree. The host who used to sell it was Steve Colantuno.

@HLP We have over 200 Fenton Art Glass pieces we display in our curio cabinet & wall unit. Many are vintage and some are antique...made at the turn of the century. We love them all! Our cabinets are lit up in the evening...eye candy

We also have several other art glass pieces made by other companies from the turn of the century- the 40's/50's.

I didn't miss a single Fenton show on QVC...missed them when they left. Additionally, DH & I met a few of the Fenton family members when they went around for signing events.

I also had so much fun going to estate sales/auctions and finding rare pieces!

Is this a brick and mortar store in WV? Can you share details? I get down to WV once or twice a year.

I had bought about 20 pieces of Fenton somewhere between 10 and 15 years ago. One set was an auto delivery of little animals representing different holidays.

We decided to put them up for sale on Mercari and they sold for way more than I would ever have expected. Pieces that cost $40 sold for about $110-- my husband puts things up at a high price and then brings them down after a few weeks.

They all sold within 2 weeks. I have one piece left--a little blue cat that was chipped that we didn't put up for sale. Definitely not junk and sold this past summer very quickly.

I think that was Boyd's Bears. I bought a few.

@Tori3569 I could never sell off any piece from our collection. The pieces bring me joy every day.

This is our curio cabinet...

And this is our wall unit lit up in the evening. The curio cabinet lights up too, but I forgot to take a pic of it with all the other lights off in our livingroom. Sadly, this pic just doesn't show how wonderful it looks lit up and the lower shelves look too dark, but they really are all lit up well.

My family's business imported Capodimonte in the 1980's. It was popular with customers then. Both my mother & my grandmother loved it, and each had a few pieces. I appreciate the beauty of it more now than I did then.
