It only uses distilled water and no cleaners because the steam disinfects and the pads clean. It's wonderful and easy too. Aside from that, most all cleaners are scented and chemically laden, but you could always try vinegar with water, it's a disinfectant and all natural.

I also use a steam mop on my kitchen/bath floors. I have linoleum so steam is okay with that but if you have laminate flooring then don't use steam b/c it will warp laminate flooring.

I was going to say vinegar also, Target sells some natural cleaners I think it's the Method brand that should be fairly decent smelling. I know they are popular.

I use a shark steam mop hot steam with a washable floor pad cleans and sanitized floors.I used filtered water. Shark just came out with a new steam mop that the floor pads actually spin in a circle. I bought our steam mop last year. She I saw th improved new steam mop I like the mop we have but that one looks like it would clean even better. <LI-SPOILER> </LI-SPOILER>

I have a Bissell steam mop that I swear by. It uses tap water or cleaner. I stick with the tap water because I have allergies and migraines.

I also use the Bio Cleaner that I purchased from QVC for any other scrubbing needs. It doesn't bother my allergies or migaies and you can mix it to the strength that you want.

This is what works for our home.

I loved the smell of Pine Sol but they've changed it, guess I was in the minority. Vinegar is a good floor cleaner, not positive how antibacterial it is. I got the Bona mop from suggestions on this forum and love it. It came with some sort of cleaner that straps on the handle, is antibacterial, and doesn't have a scent after it dries. When that bottle expires, I will make my own cleaner with peroxide and some sort of household cleaner, maybe Fabuloso since I love their scents. Mr Clean smells all right but not sure how it would compare with the newer Pine Sol scent, I think they're about the same. If I had allergies, I think I'd just use Murphy's Oil Soap and spray lightly with peroxide.
