Keeping closet smelling nice...

Is there a product that any of you use to keep your closet fresh smelling?

I have used the large disks that are supposed to absorb odors, called 'citrus magic'. I used the pure linen scent. It has been in the closet for a VERY LONG time and still has not disentegrated and honestly I don't think it did a great job.

I keep the carpet cleaned in the closet, and maybe I am making to big of a deal about this, just wondering if anyone of you use anythig or just don't worry about it!

I just use Little Trees. Throw one on the floor somewhere in the closet. They make many scents and last many weeks when you use them according to the instructions (don't take them completely out of their cellophane wrapper).

I too would like to find something that would make closets smell fresh without any type of scent.

Anything with scent is bad for anyone with allergies and/or could develop allergies to them. My daughter's allergist does not recommend them, especially the ones that are made for car's. They are the worst. In my "old" age I am developing allergies for the first time, so far just the outdoor pollen and some medications. So I am leery about trying some things.

I do use Lysol Spray, the original, and spray in my closets from time to time.

My bedroom, bathroom and closet are built on a slab and the closet gets musty smelling, so I use Arm and Hammer Moisture/Odor Elimanator. I guess it's dessicant that absorbs the moisture and collects in the bag.It has a pleasant smell, but probably doesn't work unless your closet is damp.

I never thought about keeping something permanent in my closet for a fresh/clean scent. I do keep one of those Damp Rid containers on the floor to collect excess moisture and I spray it every once in a while with Lysol or Febreze.

I use charcoal packets in my closets, laundry room, pet areas and in my basement. They just need to be put ourside in sunshine for about an hour to refresh. I got them from QVC

These are all good suggestions. I would also add cedar disks, for a natural approach.

Damp Rid really worked in my closet. The product comes in several different sizes.

Other than regular dusting and vacuuming, I try to air my closets out regularly and deal with the humidity levels. In the past, I've used a portable dehumidifier and Damp-rid bags. My current house has motion-activated exhaust fans in the closets, so every time you enter the closet, the fan turns on for 30 seconds or so. I haven't lived here in winter yet, so I don't know if I'll need to deploy the dehumidifier or not.

I have a super large walk in closet in my bedroom. I have charcoal filters in there.

I also like to keep the door ajar or completely open when possible. I think a closet needs fresh air. I have an air filter in my bedroom too.

I don't worry about the other closets in my home. I store my many scented candles in the bottom of my linen closet and they make my linens smell nice.

I have bought ,3 types of those little trees, the pine does not last,the mint barely smells,but the vanilla coconut smells great,and does last.

How long does the smell linger? I have never used these beads in laundry as dh can't handle scented items, but the rose beads sound like it would smell nice in my walk in closet.

I have a medium sized walk in closet without an air vent. We leave the closet door ajar since the fan in the bedroom runs constantly and helps with air circulation in there.

We also keep a Wallflower plugged in all the time. They come in different scents and leave a pleasant aroma.

I may have misunderstood-are you talking about a cedar closet or something like that or just a regular walk in closet?

In my own walk in closet, I don't use anything-not needed.

However in a cedar closet or something similar, then I would use something.......
