Can anyone recommend a machine that cleans Linoleum floors?

I have linoleum floors in my kitchen (tile floring) and it's EXTREMELY difficult to not only keep the floors clean but then clean them. No matter what I use, I'm just not satisified with how the job turns out. For some reason, this type of flooring is extremely easy to colelct stains and dirt and nothing wants to come up.

I live in an APT btw.

P.S. I have a Shark Steam mop but that doesn't do jack!

Bissell seems to make the Cadillac of floor cleaners. Have you looked at them? I assume by linoleum you're referring to vinyl tile?

You need a new floor, not a new machine.

Vinyl has replaced linoleum because the upkeep is much easier. Linoleum requires not only cleaning, but occasional WAXING. If it doesn't get waxed it gets ground in stains.

Talk to your landlord and work out a deal.

****ON THE OTHER HAND, linoleum is rubber-based and considered more environmentally friendly than petroleum-based vinyl.

I have linoleum floors and I use a steam mop. What I do is wet the mop pad with vinegar/water mix (don't add vinegar to the mop tank). Steam mop floors as usual. Floors might be a bit more wet than usual but they come clean using vinegar for me.

I agree about the steam cleaners not doing a great job, I use a Bissell Crosswave and it does a pretty good job, but it's not great on ground in stains.

Right before we switched to ceramic tile, I was scrubbing my kitchen and bath linoleum with a long handled brush and soapy water. I used an old towel to get the dirty water up, then used the steamer.

They might be vinyl, I thought they were linoleium. Nothing the landlord is gonna do, they are not going to replace my floors lol (they just renovated the property about 5 years ago too), I mean let's be realistic here. I was thinking to try a Bissell, I'll check out some of the machines. I can take a pic and post if anyone would like?

In my kitchen and great room I have Solarian (think it's vinyl) and used a steamer until I saw that it wasn't doing a good job.

Found a telescoping brush on Amz. and spritz 409 cleaner on the floor. Use a small towel to wipe up the patches....it is easier to wring out. ( Price was cheaper ). Floor sparkles now.

In our FL condo, we use our Hoover carpet steam cleaner on the kitchen tile as well as the lanai tiles. Does a very good job. Found the water extraction was excellent on the carpeting !

The only machine I know of that will do what you want is called human, on hands and knees with lots of elbow grease. You can try using a brush and a powder cleaner such as Ajax or Barkeepers Friend. If its a inexpensive porous material then nothing may get it as clean looking as you want.

Not hapening lol, I'm not getting on my hands and knees. I did it before and it killed me, never again lol. There has to be a machine to take care of this, I'm not believing that there isn't one.

There is a new Bissell out there now, the Crosswave Hydrosteam, I've not seen nor used it but I noticed it on their website when I was buying a new roller.

I really do love my crosswave, I use it a few times a week since only about 30% of our home is carpeted the rest is vinyl tile, ceramic or hardwood. I usually use the crosswave daily for my kitchen and in addition I use a long handled scrub brush to get in the grout lines every couple of weeks, I also have a grout brush and cleaner that does a good job when I need the added 'oomph'! Our cats are not neat eaters and there is often food in the grout lines.

One of the best things I have found is GP66 spray, if I have a nasty stain I use Biocleaner, both are from QVC. . . but a friend just told me about Rejuvinate Deep Clean Grout cleaner that I will give a try when it needs done again.

I love GP66, it's my first go to cleaner from laundry stains to walls!

I have linoleum or vinyl in my "tiny" bathroom. I didn't have stains but I did have dirt that had gotten caked on top. I tried all types of cleaners, mops, etc. without success. I also have Bissell steam cleaning machine and that didn't do anything.

One Saturday, I was determined so I took a towel, got it soaking wet and laid it down on the floor for a couple of hours. Afterwards, I took my Bissell steam clean and sprayed around where the towel had been. I then took a scrub daddy and scrubbed all over that particular area. The dirt came up. I then got my towel wet and repeated the process in a different area of the floor.

BTW, I do keep my bathroom (floor) clean but I had a guy that was working on my grout and it took him a couple of months to finish and he had dirty workboots.

Like I mentioned, my bathroom is tiny and it took me a couple of Saturdays to complete the whole bathroom. Depending on the size of your kitchen, this might not work for you though.

The top coat with the shine has probably been removed . Replacing the laminate may be the only solution .

Ask your landlord what your floors are and what cleaning method works well. Landlords know these things. Are you the only tenant since they were installed? If so, you're responsible for their current condition. (Just being realistic here.) It will be cheaper in the long run to get the correct information now. If your landlord doesn't know how to clean them, contact the manufacturer.

You seem more interested in shopping for a new machine than learning what you actually need to do. Think about what paying for a new floor will cost if you move out. Bye-Bye Security Deposit.

Bissell and several other companies make a floor cleaner/scrubber/polisher to do exactly what you want; the price usually starts around $130.

This piece of equipment has 2 round brushes on the bottom that actually do the scrubbing dirty work. When I lived at home, our Bissell got quite a workout scrubbing old wax off our tile floors, and buffing the new coat of wax. A set of buffing pads snap on over the scrubber pads to do light cleaning and refresh the shine.
