CUTE BUBBLE CANDLES

I've always liked quirky shapes in candles, but Katelyn Sailor's apartment sent me over the top with them, love.

We were in Walmart today, and I found that even they have some stylish, playful pillar candles (so does Michaels, by the way, and no doubt other stores).

These are Walmart's bubble candles. They are unscented, and come in pretty colors-- my favorites were the pink, and the butterscotch or mustardy ones (they call them "orange", I think. The texture really pops.

They are a bit pricey for Walmart, $9 and something, But I tell you, they make a real statement. I couldn't believe how cute they look in a room.

Anyway, some ideas. Any time you want to experiment with a new color in a room, or "punch up" a color you already have, I always think that candles are a neat way to do it.

With the bubble candles, one of the reviewers said, they burn really well, sort of slowly caving in on themselves, and don't make a mess, surprisingly. I probably won't burn mine for a long time, and then just a little. I lit them once, just to give the wicks a "lived-in" look.

Now, I'm just sitting back, and enjoying the impactful visual of them in my living room, ha.

That's a good question, @panda1234 . Right now I have some colorful pottery saucers ( from a set of espresso cups) under each one. I do have some pillar candle holders I'd probably put under them too, on occasion.

They could go in some kind of glass hurricane too, I think. Of course, I'm not burning them now. But the reviewer said when she burned them, they weren't messy at all, and sort of 'stayed together'.

I love the shapes!! I would use those as part of my seasonal mantle scape. Would never burn any candles but those make a statement--

These are really great! And the price point is really attractive. I'm doing to check them out. I think a butterscotch candle may be in my future. Walmart has really upped their game on home decor lately.

@wagirl , and @Linda0215 , I love that you "get" the whole kooky candle thing! Colorful, or interesting-shaped candles always surprise me in the way that they can relax the feeling of a room, introduce whimsy, make a huge statement, all out of proportion to their size. It's amazing.

@Linda0215 , here's the butterscotch color you like--

Right now, I've got them on an entry table. I have my modern, white-and-confetti art glass vase in the center, with eucalyptus in it. On one side I have a pink bubble candle in a pottery saucer, and on the other, a butterscotch one.

The ridged, sort of urn-shaped candles also come in a range of colors--

I've long used playful, candy-colored taper candles, and spiral ones, the same way. I'll display them like candy, lying them length wise in an oval dish, pink, blue, green all together.

Now I like the fun wavy shapes you see out there, as well as the colors--

These wiggly ones, when they are lying flat might look a little too much like worms -- but when they are upright, I'm sure they are a fun look.

Lots of possibilities...

@Oznell Oh my gosh, Oznell...these are really fabulous!!! They literally make me giggle when I look at them. I LOVE the second, green candle. The color with the butterscotch is so lovely. Now you have me ordering candles. 😂

@CANDLEQUEEN , so glad you like them also, and @Linda0215 , we have enough people to start a club, ha.

I know I'm sort of ranting about them, but there's something about these rich colors, produced in these funny, corrugated or urn-like shapes, that is whimsical, yet sophisticated.

I've been moving mine around like chess pieces-- now I have one in a saucer, and the other in a taller, mahogany pillar candle holder. I also like seeing how they work next to my small but colorful collection of vintage Art Deco pottery scattered around...

The candles are sort of like candy, tantalizing, addicting candy...
