How Often To Wash Bath Towels

Just read a short article about washing bath towels.

Growing up my Mom washed all bath towels and sheets once a week, without fail.

I have been a bit more flexible. My Mom only worked for a couple of years, outside of the house. She was a teacher before she got married. I worked 1 or 2 jobs from high school on, sometimes 80 hours a week. Washing bath towels was not a high priority.

I always thought the only time I used bath towels was after a shower. I figure I am pretty clean after taking a shower. How dirty can the bath towel get? So every week or two was just fine.

The article says wash bath towels once a week. Guess I will try and get to washing them every week. Guess Mother knows best.

I only do laundry once a week, I spend the whole day doing it, so technically I'm only washing them once a week but I put clean ones up every 2 days.

I do laundry once a month but I put out clean linens and towels each week. It's only me here so one month of laundry is not a big deal. I have enough clothes to last a lot longer than a month...LOL!

@drizzellla Having a pool and jacuzzi, we go through a lot of, not just bath towels but beach towels. Therefore, I do a load about every 3-4 days. I gather all the towels and wash them.

My brother told me once he would only use a bath towel once. I found that strange. I noticed now he seems to use it at least 2-3 times.

My mom's rule was a clean towel for every use. So we did a LOT of loads of towels.

Us? Use it two maybe 3 times and in the hampet it goes. We wash towels about every 9 days or so. Sometimes wash towels and jeans together.

I only use a bath towel once. I am really germ conscious. I don't know which end dried my face or down there. (Do not want to chance a mixup.) I also change hand towels daily. I do a load of towels every other day.

I use a clean bath towel every time I shower, washcloths are used once, hand towels may last 2 days & I do laundry when I have a proper size load of them.

Growing up my stay at home mom seemed to do laundry almost every day and we always had a clean towel for every use. Both DH and I work full time. DH works from home and he washes the sheets and towels every other week. The bed linens get changed at that time but we use a fresh towel every week.

I have always done a lot of laundry, now just me ,and a dog ,i wash my towels ,wash cloths ,kitchen towels a few times a week,sheets twice a wk.

@On It I also only use a towel or washcloth once. I do a lot of laundry but don't mind.

I wash bath towels once a week, but use a clean dish rag and dish towels daily in the kitchen.

I do mono vision contacts, so the hand towel in my bathroom is only used for the contact.

I use a clean wash cloth every day, dish cloth every day and dish towels every day. Bath towels use twice. I do most of my laundry on weekends while I am cleaning. Sometimes I do a load on a Wednesday. Just depends. I hang the towels so they dry and then throw in laundry basket so nothing smells.

Sheets every week and like crisp clean feeling. I would do twice a week if not working.

We use a towel for 2 showers. We hang to dry after using before putting in hamper or they smell sour. Yuck!!! I wash a load once per week. I do all my laundry when I have a load.

We usually wash our bath towels weekly but towels frpm the pool or hot tub go in the laundry as soon as we are done swimming, tho they may not be laundered for a few days. I use a clarisonic for face cleansing, my face towel is used for 3 or 4 days.

I only use towels once, washcloths too!

I must have a daily shower, more in Summer. Sheets weekly.

The dog gets a weekly bath with clean towels and blankets.

I only use a bath towel once. I'm a germaphobe and just can't make myself reuse a bath towel. I love doing laundry, so whenever we have enough for a load, I wash towels, there's no specific day or time.

I only buy whote bath towels so I can but in some bleach every few times to brighten them. It's just two of us now, so I usually wash ours after two or three uses. When the grands are staying with us, we go through towels like crazy, so I wash more often. I used to prefer a clean towel for each shower but don't think it's necessary anymore.
