Laundry Room Before and After...

Certainly a much more attractive space and probably more functional for its purpose. I'd miss the door, although there's probably another entrance nearby. Of course, the after shot has been styled and all the laundry products put away. Pretty color on the cabinets and the trim.

The after is much better. Not having the door makes it more functional and having the sink which I do not see in the before pix is an improvement.

Gorgeous, soothing blue color, still getting light from a pretty window, increased storage so you can put the unsightly detergents and tons of other stuff away-- it's ideal!

If you would see my "laundry room" you'd be chipping in to at least get me to the BEFORE here!!!!!

And I'd be HAPPY to have it!

The after is too pretyy to do laundry in. I don't have a problem with the before quite honesty. I would like to see how much more room there may be there. At first I thought an odd place for that exterior door to be right there. But it very well may be a good idea to enter the house here, drop your dirty clothes right there in a basket.

That would work, right?????

BTW - we live in a house over 100 years old. Yes we have a basement, a big one too (coal room included!), totally concrete unfinished basement. This is my laundry room!!!!!!!!! Good thing too, we can hang our laundry to dry on the clothes lines.

I love it, especially the beautiful blue!

As the door wasn't full length putting the window in doesn't appear to have lessened the light.

Forget doing laundry in there, I would just pull in a chair and make it my reading nook!

As @Oznell said, the blue is a "gorgeous, soothing blue color."

I'd miss the door, but the window and abundant storage are a beautiful trade-off.

I like all the storage space in the improved laundry room. It is a functional area. My laundry room is my basement! I have room to move around which is a perk .

I'm right there with you, ladies. My washer and dryer are in the unfinished part of my basement. I put a large inexpensive rug on the concrete floor in front of them to brighten up the area a bit. I have 2 tables for laundry supplies, baskets, folding, and 2 stackable mesh things for laying sweaters flat to dry. I also have a small clothes organizer with a double hanging rod. Nothing very attractive but very practical.

The after is definitely more attractive. Extra storage is always nice anywhere in a home. The before could be spruced up with fresh paint.

I have to agree! The new version is beautiful but having a door to the outside can make a huge difference if you have a dog, kids, or just a sloppy husband running in & out of the house.

We did our laundry rooom over too several years ago and I love having the door to outside. For us it's a laundry/mud room.

I would never get rid of the exterior door for a window. The room is beautiful though.

Laundry rooms usually serve as a mud room from the back yard or garage so you don't drag dirt into your home.

Most of my clothing does not go into the dryer. I hang it to dry. In nice weather I would miss that exterior door.

Been there, done that & it was an easy decision since the laundry room had also an entry door to the garage that had a 36" door to the backyard & the adjacent large eat in kitchen had a patio door to the backyard.

I love the "after" but the before could be spruced up a bit and it wouldn't be horrible. Some paint and a nice rug and the laundry products put away in the cabinets. But with all of that I love the after, the color used is gorgeous!!!! I would miss the door to the outside as well.

Call me confused.....

Where is the washer?

In the before, there was enough room on the left for the washer, dryer and the laundry room door to be opened up all the way.

So in the after, the depth of the sink base takes up some real estate space (about 24''?) which is about what the width of the dryer.

Am I making sense?

The after is very pretty, I'm sure they didn't need the entry door and the sink is a plus, for sure.

I didn't think the before was wicked looking, what bothered me the most was the difference is styles between the washer and the dryer. I've had different models before, but they still looked pretty much uniform.

Am I making any sense, now?

@Lucky Charm The angles from which the photos were taken are slightly different. The washer (we assume) is still next to the dryer, and they are opposite the closets which we assume are new and improved. The sink has been installed under the window which used to be the door.

It appeared to me that the opened door just cleared the side of the washer--in the before.

The dryer had to be moved closer to the interior door by about 2 feet to accomodate the depth of the sink.

Maybe they moved the door to the other side of the frame so that it can still be opened wide.
