I am going to clean the carpet in our family room this week. We have a new puppy and she has had a couple of accidents. I want to also 'freshen up' the carpet. I do have spray that is to be sprayed on the puppy accident spots do you think it's safe to pour some of that into my rinse water to freshen the carpet? Once I clean the carpet (with minimal soap) I always go over it a second time with just clear water to make sure all the soap residue is gone, it is in that step I would add the puppy spray, any thoughts?

From my experience it is the carpet cleaner machine not the soap that makes a difference. I got a Costco a Rug Doctor. It was over $300.00 and closer to $400. The machine picks up ALL the liquid because the motor is so strong. That is what has saved my carpart from the ""accidents from pets.""
