Easy Changes From Season To Season

This room appealed to me, I think, because of the colors. They are very much like mine. I find that in the summer I can do light peach or terra cotta colors with light blues. In the fall, like this picture, I can switch to deeper colors of orange/rust with darker pillows and so on and so forth.

I was given a lot of beautiful pillows (almost new) and I have a big rubbermaid hamper I put them in and all I have to do is switch out a few pillows and go lighter or darker on my flowers and plants and voila....a different look! I'm loving being able to do this and it's not costing me all that much because my main decor items remain the same...pictures, objects, rugs, furniture, etc.

Love this room...yes, the color is very soothing and pleasant but I think the windows especially contribute to the ambiance.

Nice decor but all those pillows would drive me crazy! I'd be constantly adjusting them.

@Biftu Yes, the amount of pillows are a little much for me, too. I do about 3-5 pillows and an afghan.

@luvzchiz He is a pretty dog....a nice terracotta/rusty color to fit the decor, too. How often does that happen? Ha!

The room is lovely but I'm not sure I've ever seen that many pillows on a couch. Are guests just supposed to sit on the floor with the dog?

Oh yes, me too, @jubilant. Most times I'd rather engage with the animals then the people. 😄 Problem is getting up off the floor with my bummer bad knee is a spectacle no one wants to see. LOL!

I bought a sofa with deep seating last year and I'm appreciating an oversized lumbar pillow and additional toss pillows for back support.

I switch out my throw pillows with the seasons too. Mine are stored on the top shelf of my guest room closet.

I would prefer fewer pillows than the room pictured. I usually have 3 or 4 on a standard size sofa and 1 on a standard size chair. I have a chair and a half that can hold 2 pillows.

I like the windows, but I'm not crazy about the coffee table. Love the dog!

Agreed, I can change out pillows and accessories and have a whole new look. As for this room, nice bones, but other than the rug and maybe the ceiling light nothing about the decor I'd choose to keep.

@pupwhipped I can relate. DH and I were both talking last night about who it takes longer to get up off the floor now ...him or me!

The room itself is lovely, I like the arch window but would have curtains/drapes for privacy. I also would have print patterns, maybe florals, on the couches to add some color. However, it is a comfortable looking area and appealing.

Yes, that room could easily be changed for every season with just some pillows, candles and floral arrangements. I now wish I had a solid colored sofa in a neutral color. There is no way I could do a pastel (Spring) theme or red & green (Christmas) look throughout my living room.
