My porch is ready for guests. Come relax on my shady porch

out of the hot sun. Have an ice cold lemonade or I can make iced tea.

@ECBG Thank you. The house was built in 1914, but inside,

much of my furniture and decor are Victorian, but not overly done or too ornate.

@ECBGI've seen some of your lovely antiques in your pictures.

In the 70's I took a semester of interior design. I loved decorating my houses. I love color in my house and when I changed decor, I did all the painting and wallpapering myself. My husband painted the ceilings. He did not have the patience to wallpaper.

In the later 70's we started collecting antiques and I incorporated our finds into home decor. We had a shop and the best pieces came home with me.

Your background sounds wonderful!

I graduated high school in 1970. My love of antiques started when I was in the 9th grade and spent the night with my new friend. I walked into the split level home and my soul settled. I knew i belonged and was "home".

My friend's mother bought a lot of antiques and sky high Victorian beds in the 1960's from old farmers when she was a secretary supporting her husband to be an attorney.

Years forward with teen sons, I ended up in therapy with a wonderful counselor about a controlling stepmother and told her the story among, other things.

The counselor is convinced I lived at another, earlier, time and wanted to hypnotise me. I said "no' because I didn't want to revisit some times.

I love your Victorian wicker, although it doesn't suit a two story cedar house with a wrap around porch in the woods.

@Oznell Thank you. I love the ferns, but they are a little messy.

They shed some dry pieces. I noticed on the right side, I missed sweeping up a few pieces.

@ECBG My house is also two story with cedar shingles and cedar flooring on the wrap around porches on a wooded knoll of pine trees. There are so many styles of wicker. Mine is not antique. This is the fourth set I have purchased since 1978.

The Victorian wicker can be very ornate. At the turn of the century and into the 20's and beyond, wicker styles became less ornate and more streamlined.

It's interesting that you mentioned past lives. I have had past life regression twice. Both times brought me back to living in the Middle East, which would explain my interest in

ancient Egypt and archeaology since I was 13. My living room

is a little like a museum with tapestry, papyrus pictures and artifacts from Egypt.

My high school friend and I loved going to what people call

"Sword and Sandal" movies, set in biblical times in the Middle East and ancient Greece and Rome.

Even now, I have videos of the old Cleopatra movies from

Claudet Colbert, Vivien Leigh to Elizabeth Taylor. Most of the

books in my library are on Ancient Egypt and the Middle East.

@ECBG I don't think that I could manage wallpapering at this age. It has been a few years since I did any of that. But, I still

like buying new

stuff like window treatments, new bedding, accent pillows, etc.
