CONNECTICUT KITCHEN

The owner of this kitchen said that even when he lived in city apartments, his rooms tended to this cozy, rural New England look. When he finally got his house in Connecticut, years ago, he was able to create his dream kitchen.

I like his pendant lights, work table-island, the touches of black and wood in the room. Dreamy floor.

Love his hooks. I have a vintage mirror in my kitchen, that has four hanging pegs at the bottom, so handy for tea towels and cutting boards. I always want MORE pegs or hooks!

Think he has struck just the right note in his kitchen for his tucked-away charming rural house:

Where's the microwave??!! LOL! Otherwise I like most of it, i.e., the countertops, floor, cabinets, recessed lighting.

Oh my, I love the house and the setting and the fall view. The kitchen is very nice, but, for me, not really a wow moment. Surely the kitchen has a window or door, some source for natural light, but we don't see it.

I just can't find a warm spot for most country kitchens. I know that's odd but they don't have warm fuzzy memories for me.

The only thing I would do is replace some of those glass cabinet doors with wood, or at least opaque glass. I don't keep my cabinets neat enough for all glass!

It's pretty. I was never into the all white kitchens that were (and still are) so popular but this one has enough texture and other elements to help break up that all white look. I probably would have gone with a different backsplash to break it up even more. Those floors are gorgeous!

I see so many homes now with the kitchen sink in the island on like this on a wall. I must have the sink under a window. It's just tradition I guess. I'd like to see the whole kitchen. Not too impressed with this. I do like the outside setting.

I like it very much, I'm just not sure about those black appliances. Even though the island is black I don't care for the line of cabinetry so broken up.

I like everything about the kitchen, I would add for color for me, the exterior is beautiful as well.

l'm not usually a fan of "country" decor, but I like this kitchen. I like the black island & appliances with the white cabinets and warm wood. I would prefer a darker backsplash for more contrast.
