@jubilant Oooh, I love that. I like a table in the kitchen. They accomplished that even though there is an island. Looks warm, cozy and inviting to me and that table can easily hold ten people if it had to.

I've noticed on the program "Escape to the Country" which features beautiful homes for sale in Great Britian, that the combo kitchen and dining room seems to be prevalent. They do it very nicely. It gives a rather cozy feel to dining.

Looks like 2 rooms to me.... table just outside kitchen. Blue drapes on

left and fancy wall pics on right. Kitchen is all white.

I have no problem with it except the colors they chose. The whole picture just looks old and yellowed and shabby to me because of the colors.

Give me some paint and new fabric and I'll have it wonderful soon!

I have a living and dining room and I grew up in a house with both. I love that look. Actually there is an archway which separates the rooms.

I do like this design shown in the picture. The dining table and chairs are lovely and I always like the look of drapes/curtains. I am not a fan of kitchen islands but in this case it works because of the space and placement of the dining set. All in all it is very appealing.

I think these are lovely rooms. I like the look of the backsplash behind the range. It would be a nice kitchen and dinning space to have.

My one change would be the drapes pooled on the floor. That is not a look I like for my own house as the bottom of the curtain can get dusty looking very quickly, doesn't work w/ pets or small children. (Learned the hard way. ).

Pretty look, but I hate to eat in the kitchen and have only done that for 3 years of married life. I prefer warm woods.

I use our country kitchen to cook in and do crafts. Back in the day, our sons had breakfast and lunch on the antique table in the kitchen. I do crafts and wrap presents during the holiday on the table now.

The table also serves buffet. It isn't comfortable for an adult to sit at.

I love it.

It reminds me of my house a little. I have a great room comprised of the kitchen, a dining area, and a family "room" area.

On the other side of my foyer is the living room and dining room.

This particular photo is similar to my kitchen/dining area.

I'm guessing the crowd who doesn't like a kitchen mess visible to the masses won't care for this arrangement.

I like it! I would just change the wall of pics, don't care for that, and add a nice rug under the table to warm up the space more. Other than that I like it a lot!

I don't mind the arrangement of the kitchen and the placement of the eating area. I'd prefer a warmer tone floor in both areas, or a warm toned rug under the table. I don't like the drapes puddling on the floor or the print on the chairs. Overall, I need more color and warmth.

I like the concept of these rooms, but the doors..........I imagine the left one goes to a laundry, but where does the other one go and where is the refrigerator?

Glad you mentioned the British TV show "Escape to the Country" @Kachina624 . I enjoy watching that show too. I don't watch HGTV anymore after I discovered Escape to the Country. I not only enjoy the homes they show but I also like that you learn about the local area/county where the people might be moving to. Some of the old cathedrals/churches they show are beautiful. I also really like some of the local artisans they visit and you can see them working at their craft and the products they produce. I would love to visit England someday.

@cimeranrose I didn't realize before that show how beautiful the countryside in Great Britain is. So green and lush with lovely old buildings and gorgeous vistas.
