I just saw this flatware show up in today's email from Kirkland's. I think they are carrying the rustic motif a bit far.

@PA Mom-mom Those are a no for me, it would make me think I was eating twigs and berries. Plus, they would get all tangled up in the dishwasher bin where I put my flatware.

That pattern has been around for a long time. As I recall, originally it had to be hand washed. That alone would make it a "no".

The really skinny handles are very hard for me to keep a grip on. They tend to spin around in my hand. I love the whimsy but technically hard for me to use.

@PA Mom-mom, like @LizzieInSRQ , I would have some difficulty with thin handles, but..... I've always liked the "woodland fantasy" -themed silverware I've seen. These that you've posted are so interesting and fanciful, have a fairy tale aspect to them.

I also like bamboo-themed flatware, which would be a little easier to hold. Very turn-of-the-century Tiffany feeling...

I'm mad for all kinds of flatware!

For practicality reasons, "just no." Nothing like being poked at while trying to eat. Probably end up with bruised hands. Ugg, no thanks.
