Colorful Vignettes...

All the work of designer Matthew Monroe Bee, recently featured in an item in Southern Home... As always, there are things I'd change but I enjoy his colorful but traditional style...

Not quite a highboy but I like the tall chest of drawers and adore the French style chair in blue and white toile. I'd replace the art and can take or leave the ikat covered chair... Personally, I think ikat's fifteen minutes should be about up...

Pretty dining room vignette, though I have no idea what that is on the wall. Whatever it is, it needs to come down...

A breakfast room and while I like most of the elements, the bright yellow would not be my choice...

Some fine traditional pieces in the sitting area...

A bar and book area...

The rest of the sitting area... I'd choose different window treatments...

i like the furniture. don't really care for any of the looks shown. all of it is a big no in my book.

If I was assigned to live in hell for eternity, this is what it would look like for me. Cluttered, fussy, and boring.

If you love it, I guess it's heaven for you.

Truthfully, I'm not a fan of any of these rooms. I don't care for the traditional style nor the cluttered look of the decor items. I don't know what's on the wall either in #2 but it's not nearly as offensive as the wallpaper, IMHO, of course.

Too stiff and formal; not for the "real" world and definitely not my cup of tea. However I do like that turquoise and coral chair in the first pic.

Yes, I do like some of the pieces displayed & color combos. Unfortunately, my home has the same problem with editing as I have to many knick knacks and over crowded rooms of things& pieces of furniture I have collected .

Very interesting set of rooms! I totally agree with all of your comments. I think it's about time for Ikat to disappear as well.

Those blue and white ginger jars really grab your eye in the first pic.

I liked the use of the white Oriental Chippendale chairs and notice quite a bit of the furniture throughout is Sheraton.

I like some of the furnishings and accessories, but the wallpaper, bright wall color, and print mixing keeps me from really loving any of these spaces as they are.

I like the dark wood armoire in the first room, but I don't like the chairs, prints, or artwork. I've never been a ginger jar fan.

I like the side table in the second room, but the wallpaper is just too much for me.

I like yellow, but the shade used in the third room is too bright. The animal rug is a big turn off for me.

The subtle blue vignette in the 4th photo is the most doable for me, although I don't like the bench in that place. Upon seeing the full photo, I'm not loving the rest of the room.

I think all of the rooms have added a contemporary edge to the traditional furnishings in a good way. I wouldn't choose any of the looks for myself, but that doesn't mean the designer isn't talented.

I love all the tradtional furniture, especially the first highboy, the handsome sideboard and the painted Swedish-looking chairs. Elaborate window treatments are never my thing; to me they bring added fussiness I'm not fond of.

I'd prune some of the accessories for my own personal liking, but the art is interesting, especially those architectural prints.

I'm not familiar with Matthew Monroe Bee, @stevieb , but I also find his use of color fun and exuberant. Reminds me a little of Miles Redd or Jeffrey Bilhuber...

Most of it is sheer clutter and am not a fan of antiques anymore--maybe a piece or 2 but not a whole room. the colors are pretty wild and the mishmosh of patterns is very distracting----not my cup of tea

@Oznell I wasn't familiar with his work either until I saw a feature online. I enjoy his aesthetic but, for me, it needs to tone down a bit. I don't have a problem with excess or with color, but not much of a fan of such bright colors combined with excess.

Most of the furnishings are lovely, love the dinette set and the chairs in the sitting area. I am a fan of the artwork in the rooms. I would make changes, however, the color yellow would go and I would change the curtains in the sitting room. It is a pretty home but needs some changes.

They're certainly colorful. I admire people who run with colors they like & aren't afraid of bold choices!

Consistently throughout these pictures are ugly in my opinion window treatments. They gotta go!
