I've spent the last two hours today and can't count how many hours total online looking for sheets. I bought two new sets in June that started falling apart within 6-8 weeks. They weren't cheap sheets.

ive looked here and every place from Target to Pottery Barn and The Company Store. Apparently, you have to pay $400+ for a set of sheets these days that might hold up longer than a year, be soft and fit properly.

We need extra deep pockets for our thick pillow top mattress. Has anyone recently purchased sheets that you like?

It is hard to recommend sheets because each person has such specific desires. I like the organic cotton sheets from Pottery Barn. They wash up nicely and seem to last forever. However, they don't have the silky feel that some people like and they are not brushed cotton as others may like.

I don't know. Two different brands. One from Home Goods and the other from Tuesday Morning. Both sets were in the $100 range.

Charter Club deep pockets sheets from Macys. They're really good and last along time.

Maybe I'm not very picky but I am always pleased with percale sheets from Target. I grab them when they go on sale.I don't think the Q would allow a link but quickly I just found a 400 thread count, 100% set of king sheets for $65.

But I will say, I don't care if they don't hold up more than a year. But they usually do.

LE 6oz flannel. Holds up and wonderfully soft if you like flannel.

Skip the 5oz, scratchy feel.

Back in November, I purchased sheets from Pottery Barn and Crate & Barrel. So far so good.

Buying sheets is a chore under the best of circumstances. I prefer to buy my sheets in a store where I can feel the fabric. I am very particular about the hand of the fabric. In fact,I am a lot like Goldilocks, so it has to be just right.

I did like the bamboo sheets from Sleep Number, but I do not know if the gusset is deep enough for the thick mattresses that some own. Good luck in your quest.

I've been buying sheets for over 35 years, and have never had a set fall apart. I never buy expensive sheets either.

I've had these sheets from Boscov's for about 1½ years and they're fine. I've seen them on sale for less than today's price. They aren't wrinkle-free out of the dryer, but that doesn't bother me. I did wash them before using the first time. There was a small amount of shrinkage, but no more after that.

You don't say the kind - texture - fabric you prefer. I love percale - bought another set last year from Macys - Martha Stewart

Wash and dry = Excellent

Minimal wrinkles - I have thick mattress pad - corners fit just fine w/spare

@Marsha2003 yes another vote for pottery barn 100% organic cotton. Nice weight, not slippery and just cozy. I only buy when there's a big sale as they are really expensive (at least to me). My daughter just got a new King size bed. For Xmas, I grabbed a king set with the Airstream design on it (she doesn't care what design is on a sheet) for a one day price of $32 for whole set. That same sheet set is now over 100$ so yeah, I got a deal. They have a few leftover sale Xmas design sets which aren't a bargain like that, but I may spring for my bed. I too do not care what kind of a design is on the sheet. I will sleep on mistletoe printed sheets year round.

I bought a set of bamboo sheets from HSN at a sale price a few years ago and they are just the BEST sheets ever! SOOOO soft, they stay cool and wear amazingly. I haven't seen them offered since because I've been wanting to get another set. I don't think I will ever get anything but bamboo sheets again.

I steer clear of the microfiber sheets, they are thin and poor quality.

I love Northern Nights sheets! The next time they have a TSV you might want to look into buying them. I only buy the cotton ones though.

LL Bean has nice cotton & flannel sheets. They are both OEKO-TEX certified.

Lands End used to have the same but theirs are no longer OEKO-TEX certified if that matters.

Sheets are soooo subjective. Everyone becomes tactile with sheets. I personally do not like cotton sheets, I like a poly-cotton blend. I like my sheets crisp and cool. Every set of 100% cotton made me and my husand sweat yuck. But there devotees that swear and will absolutely not have anything less than 100% cotton and I can respect that because everyone is different. I have a california king and I got tired of changing the sheets so I went to the zip sheets. WOW what a difference. I like the fabrics, and changing the sheets on that bed is no longer a chore. But I have always found it hard to recommend sheets since sleep is very personal and sheet, blanket, room darkness, pocket depth, color, thread count and temperature are really an individual choice. And although I might seem like I have the same taste as someone, I go and make recommendation and bam, turns out they hate them. I also have always found once I like a set, they wind up discontinuing them.

I also am satisfied with targets sheets, percale, at Christmas i bought cuddl duds flannel sheets fro kohls, i like flannel in the winter, very soft.

I've never had sheets fall apart either. I usually buy new ones because I get bored with the ones I have. I don't like buying "sets" because DH does not like a top sheet so I buy individually a fitted sheet and pillow cases. We had a BB&B near us until recently and that's where I've bought most of my sheets. But I would definitely try Macy's. Great sales and big selection.

Have always paid way less than $100 for sheets and they have always lasted years and years.
