I like the tree in front of the window, but the window looks so cold. Red curtains would warm it up. I don't care for the furniture or what ever is laying on the floor, either. Again, it looks so cold.

I love the tree itself. It looks like a Jacquie Lawson ecard site tree.

What about that ladder? The bar it moves on seems short, or is that the perspective?

Lovely window, beautiful room with just the right amount of colorful holiday decor. Comfortable, liveable, perfect.

@GingerPeach It appears perhaps that the ladder is for access to a loft.

I was coming to that conclusion, but the upper railings (again, perspective) seemed too close together. Curious minds and all that.

Another beautiful magazine worthy photo depicting a current Christmas look. I think it is stunning.

However, my words can't begin to touch the wonderful memories my brothers and I have of sitting on the school bus waiting to get our first look at our Christmas tree glowing brightly in the picture window at home.

Mom always decorated while we were at school, and would have the drapes pulled back so we could see the colorful lights, sparkling tinsel, and the covering of angel hair on the white pine or cedar tree Dad had cut on the farm.

In the 50 years I've lived since those school days, my eyes have seen a lot of Christmas trees, but none have ever touched my heart in the same way as those simple trees at home.

Great window and pretty tree. I would remove some of the furniture and stuff in the room to give it a more open and airy look.

Beautiful tree and window!

I like the polished wood coffee table and the lamp table. Not loving the other furnishings or accessories. I really dislike the animal skin rug and the large brown rug.

I love the room itself, but I'd have to change the room color from that bright white. I don't care for the red holiday touches with the white walls.

Agree @RedTop . Knowing that you are dealing with your mother's decline made your memories especially poignant.

I'm one who moves my tree to different spots each year, but if I had that room, the tree would go there every year.

I love this room and tree. The red really makes it festive. I like they way they sprinkled even more red on the two table tops. Just pure simple elegance.
