Home Scents

Can anyone suggest a non-electric, non-candle home scent product that is long lasting? Now that my Minnesota house is closed up for winter, I would like to use something that smells fresh and does not need to be plugged in or lit. My home is clean, but I would love to walk into a fresh scent.

I saw some heat pump air filters that were scented with lavender . I think it was Home Depot

I use Home Works plug ins sparingly. My husband has sinus problems.

I just bought Agraria Home's new reed diffuser scent Riviera Pear. The first day it was a bit too sweet and strong but then settled down and became something I'd get a nice, pleasant whiff of every now and then.

I also treated myself to a refill of my favorite Agraria scent Balsam.

The diffusers come with reed sticks as well as a flower-shaped topper that absorbs the fragrant oil.

They have other scents you may like better. Those are the only two I've tried. They have excellent potpourri as well.

Get a shachet and put on a vent so that when the heat turns on, it releases the scent.

I have a pot simmering on the stove with cinnamon and vanilla in water; adds moisture and scent, cheaply. Sometimes I add cloves too, all bought at Dollar General.

Oh - you could also get the car hanging things (scentsy, yankee candle, etc) and put them somewhere inconspicuous.

i meant the post was for a house is closed up for the winter....wanted suggestions for non-electric scent.....

However I've read reviews that state the scent lasts for up to 6 months. Then it would be worth it.

Three essentials oils (peppermint, lemongrass, & rosemary) mixed with water in a spray bottle helps prevents pests and has a refreshing scent.

Either a couple of Reed Diffusers, or some Plug Ins.. I know Homeworx makes Plug ins, but so does Air Wick and SC Johnson as well as Febreeze.......

Reed Diffusers, I have tried and some are definitely better than others as far as being able to actually smell them. The best I found for me anyway is super expenseive, but its by Jo Malone, and you can get them at Macy's....They last really long and are very fragrant. I have received many compliments.....

The cheapest option would be to buy a box of highly scented dryer sheets (like Gain) and put them throughout the house.

I bought a box of potpourri in their balsam scent well over 10 years ago (they don't even offer it anymore in balsam) and the leftover part that's still in the box still has a lovely scent today.

I hope that makes sense.

I buy this brand only every few years since it is expensive. It's still a favorite.

I used the plug ins but, you need to careful if you have pets---my poor stripey cat got so sick from the infusers I had-----spent a week going of vets appts, shots and hydration infusions, blood labs until we just happened upon a google thing about the very thing we were going thru with her. As soon as I took those things out of the wall and aired out the house, she was normal in a day or two---and it was several hundreds of $ for that week----never again--like the suggestion of boiling aromatics in water on the stove top

@mac116 Check out Hearth & Hand Magnolia at Target. They offer diffuser oil w/sticks. I ordered two recently and they are very nice and filling the air with nice scents. $11.99. Most other brands are $29.99 and up for diffusers. I have one in the kitchen and one in the bathroom.
