I think it's a good idea, but not for this particular space. It takes up too much counter space and is mostly holding decorative items. I also think it's too big in that small space. The room would appear larger and more open without it.

I think it nicely serves its purpose in bathroom spaces that have slanted ceilings like under stairways, in dormers, etc.

It looks like it could be a powder room. If so, anything goes! Powder rooms are perfect places to let creative juices flow.

@lolakimono Clever idea, but maybe don't have the shelves go all the way down to the counter so it doesn't use up valuable space. 🛀🛁🚿🚽

My thoughts would be to remove the shelving unit and go with all counter top, bigger sink and large mirror and add a small chandlier and hang off of the slanted wall. For additional lighting I would add puck lights in the ceiling. The room should be in light colors such as white, palest of grey and lighest blue possibe. Color could be added with towels and a small bud vase. A nice size picure on the largest wall.

I think this is a great use of space. It increases the counter space. Depending on available storage space, I would probably use some baskets for extra supplies to keep things neat and tidy.

I think they made good use of the space. But, as usual, I'd have the cabinets in a lighter wood. I'd also replace the mirror & try to have the slanted cabinet with doors if possible. Thanks for sharing.

I just think that cleaning the counter would be annoying and incomplete. And like someone else mentioned, more valuable counter top space. Something else clever could replace the cabinet perhaps hanging on the wall.

If it's just a powder room, I think the shelves are fine because counter space is not needed. However, if not a powder room, then I would make the shelving smaller to make more counter space. I really like it. Looks so neat.

Love the idea of using space like this especially under stairs but this looks a bit overwhelming in this smallish space. It could be good for storage if used wisely.

I WANT that mirror - it is gorgeous! Love the shape and that it has beveled edges I think).

I would do that! I would have it filled with towels and bath products though to utilize the shelves better. And yes, I love the mirror too!

good idea--I put a walk in pantry that has a slanted ceiling from the space under the stairs to the 2nd floor of my last house---so much space for stuff!!

If this is a main bathroom, and not just a powder room, I'd fill it with baskets and jars of my make up, lotions, cotton balls, etc. I wouldn't want the shelf just filled with knick knacks. If it is a powder room, I'd eliminate the shelves completely.
