I love this style. It doesn't look overly country at all to my eyes. It looks comfortable and cozy in all of the best ways.

I find this room warm and inviting and comfortable looking. The only thing I do not care for is the location of the TV.

It's definitely not country I'm familiar with. It's just designed for ultimate family comfort.

A little crowded for me and you couldn't even sit on the couch without moving sofa pillows. Too many.

Agree the TV is in an odd place for enjoyment, but love the view out the windows and this blend of neutrals works for me.

This is no way country. It is a simple, traditional room. It is very traditional and you could change the fabric colors and make it anything from coastal to English Country to cowboy western.

@Sooner Tend to agree. The difference is that rather than being a more formal traditional look, this is a more 'comfortable' sort of 'family room' look that was adopted by scores of folks, mostly in the '80's and '90's, but probably still popular among many today. Though it's not for me, it's not a bad looking room and there are a few elements I'd certainly not mind having.

Although, I'd add some color to this and it's not my preferred style, I think country is always cool and in style. I could easily live with it.

Unlike modern, it's always welcoming, warm, and cozy.

I like this comfortable family friendly space so I guess that makes me outdated. I'm not going to change my furnishings and paint every time a new home trend comes along. The colors, prints, and furnishings look fine to me. Beautiful windows.

The 2 things I don't like are the tile around the firebox and the striped chair in the foreground. I agree with others that the TV is not in the best place.

Fireplaces and built ins just don't do it for me; the furniture is fine, but every one of those pillows would have to go!

@jubilant To me it is sort of a mix of faux colonial American (think it started in the 1950s) and a version of country (where is the patterned wallpaper border running around the ceiling?) so it is not my style or choice but it does look comfortable and enjoyed by those who reside there.

I kind of liked this look in the late 80's for a very short period of time...then I got tired of seeing it in most of my friends and neighbors homes.

Today it's a definite no for me.

The TV is too low and off to the side...strange location for viewing.
