The "after" is a better layout.....and they covered that glaring arcadia window.........

I couldn't have WHITE, tho.......I live in a city of blowing dirt (!!)

The furniture in front of the sliding door in the second picture makes no sense to me.

I like the placement of the furniture in the first picture but dislike all the decor.

The second picture is way too closed up.

I would start over.

Too much white in the after, glaringly so. I prefer the before because it's cozy and welcoming as well as colorful but today it looks HOT. I'll just spend the day at the pool.

@lolakimono To me, the second choice is too glaringly WHITE! I would need my sunglasses. The first is more calm and inviting, although the wall art has to go. Thank you for an interesting post.

I think its hard to compare because they are from different angles.

The 2nd picture of the room looks bigger with bookshelves and the extension of the next room which we can't see in the first picture.

The white version---very nice, however--not a fan of all white---but the first version is like a dark cave----funny but that room are the colors, sort of, that I had for years---makes me cringe now--am into the neutrals that can go with pops of color---LOVE the built ins

For me the first says "come make yourself comfortable, here's some magazines and here's the tv remote".

The second one says "come look at me and see how pretty I look in white".

The after is too sterile and not inviting. I prefer a comfortable and a real room to be free to live in!

I prefer the second one. I like the soothing colors much better, and I like the furniture much better too. It is a bit deceiving as the angle of the photo is different-- or at least it seems that way to me. I don't care for the furniture or the colors in the before, and even as someone who prefers "big art", it isn't done well in that photo.

I vote for the 2nd one which brightens up the room. The 1st one is too dark and gloomy.

The after is better because it is a lot lighter and has a better design and layout. However the stark white is to much and needs some splashes of color to warm it up and make it inviting.

I like the first one better. More cozy. The second one is too sterile and not inviting, to me. Too much like a showcase.

The second one looks better to me. I think the first one is more practical for furry friends. 🤔 I couldn't have all white though it's pretty.

It's not even a contest for me. I always prefer a room with a lot of light. The seating looks comfortable and I really like the bookcase. It's also nice to have the TV at a good height for viewing. Maybe the photos were taken at different times of day, but in the first photo, the couch and carpet are dark and the lamps and walls almost look dingy. And all the stuff piled on the coffee table would drive me insane!
