Before you decide... here is the back story.

Each globe is a vintage item that represents each person of the family in the house.

Does the story influence your like/dislike of the mismatched fixture?

It has a funky, quirky factor that I like. The mis-matched, old fashioned globes on the modern fixture create an interesting piece.

That's a wonderful and meaningful back story, one I'm sure the family has shared with visitors often. I liked it when I first saw it, very unique but they all work well together. A home should reflect the people that live there and makes them comfortable and happy and who cares what anyone else thinks! @lolakimono thanks for sharing.

It's one of those life choices that only the owner needs to like imo.

I do like every one of those bulbs and once upon a time I had a dining area and a house in which any of them would have been appropriate - might have used 2 kinds.

@lolakimono - It's a nice gesture, and really no wrong in that case. I still prefer matching globes for my personal taste.

It's different and I like that about it. I also like the story. I like personal pieces in a home that mean something to the owner..that makes a home unique.

I don't care for it. Rather than make a fixture, why not make lamps for each person. Let them design their own.

The history doesn't influence me. The fixture itself is unattractive, as are the globes, and the mixed globes don't work, regardless of the reason for them. Sorry, but I'd find other ways to express my sentimentality. To me, this just reads 'tacky'.
