Dark Kitchen Cabinets

Do you like this kitchen?

I’ve never considered cabinets this dark. I’m not sure if they’re black or a very dark brown, but they look very “rich” to me. The lighter ceiling & floor help offset the dark color, but I still think the dark colors are making the space appear smaller than it probably is in reality.

I really love the amount of cabinets & storage in this kitchen. I like the floor, & the lighter color of the counters & backsplash. I like the patterned chairs at the bar. I’m not crazy about the wallpaper or chandelier.

I love all of the storage and space, I also love the flooring, but I agree that it is still too dark, and I also think a different bigger, brighter chandelier or light fixture would help!

Can't tell , but are the cabinets a very drk cherry . Many times you see blue mixed with cherry cabinets

I think I would need more light in the space before considering going this dark with the cabinetry. It's a beautiful space but I would be afraid that it feel too dark.

I like this kitchen very much. However, as I have stated before I prefer table and chairs, I am not an island fan. I do have to say the chairs at least look comfortable. I do love the chandelier and the floor. I also think the dark color of the cabinets do not make the room darker, it looks fine.

I like the color but looking at the picture it's too dark for me.

I have a lot of light coming in but that's something I need to think about before putting dark in my kitchen.

Looks like I need to look for something lighter.

I LOVE this one too. I don't care for two island chairs nor the plaid fabric but that's an easy fix.

I would change the top cabinets to cream for a 2 tone look.

I would also change the plaid fabric on the stools.

Chandelier id Ok but I might want something less ornate.

LOVE IT!

Hate while cabinets...enough already, imho. Dark colors make walls recede. So to me the dark green cabinets don't overwhelm the room. This color brings a sense of warmth and comfort to me.

Nice place to relax....and cook, I guess - if you really have to.

I don't like dark cabinets. I always purchase cabinets in the middle not too light or too dark and I have hardwood floors and I do the same with the floors. That way when the trend changes I'm right in the middle.

If I was going to do it I would choose navy or dark green and contrast more with white, etc.. I like the patterned chairs also, but in more vibrant colors.

Dark colors add depth to a room - whether it's a wall, a couch, decor, or whatever.

I think this is a beautiful kitchen. I'm not sure it is anything I would choose to do in my own home, but I do like it.

Love the dark kitchen design!

Years ago we were at a co-worker's place - kitchen was mahogany cabinets and dark hunter green. The darker wood was common throughout the house. Darker carpets.

LOVED IT!

I'm not a fan of lots of natural light or brightly lit spaces.

I had my kitchen remodeled a year ago and my cupboards are very similar to the ones in the photo in color (walnut). I have a cream-colored tile floor so I went with a creamy-white granite countertop and a natural travertine backsplash so it's a very nice contrast. We also get a lot of light in the kitchen so it never looks too dark. I love my kitchen. 😊

I really like everything but the chandelier. It looks too formal for a kitchen.
