Really odd furniture arrangement! Library (?) w/o any seating - so you carry your books up and down, and apparently no comfy "curl up and read" space downstairs.

I wouldn't even attempt to use those spiral stairs.

Love the staircase and the ceiling! Do not like the rug or the chairs, would swap out fo rmore comfortable ones!very elegant though!

The circular staircase alone makes this a NO but then there's really nothing about this room I care for anyway. Total gut job!

Those chairs and rug don't seem to go at all. The staircase - well, not only scary, but for me personally, I would get dizzy going up and down them.

I’m not really liking this space. The architecture is nice, but I don’t like the white walls. I don’t like the furnishings or accessories either. I’d prefer my library to be all on the same floor with a couple of comfy chairs or recliners. This is what we did with our 3rd bedroom.

@stevieb The only thing I like is the ceiling.

BTW I just want to thank you for all the posts of different rooms, lifestyles, etc. I almost always find at least one little thing I like, and it's fun to see such variety.

@stevieb not a fan of the rug or furniture. As a library I would prefer comfy chairs to curl up and read in.

The set up is nice, but, nothing homey about it.

I see possibilities that it could be very nice, but it would require quite a few changes to transform it into a welcoming, comfortable and safe environment. A mountain goat would have trouble navigating those stairs.

I would have a different color/pattern on the flooring on the first floor though. I'd also replace the chairs on the pattern portion of the floor.

I like the ceiling.........it's a very cold room for a library. It needs some softening. That staircase is an accident waiting to happen, like falling on that hard floor!

I think it is a beautiful space. While I am not interested in living in a home wth stairs, I appreciate the aesthetic

Per the article in which this one was featured, it's an idiosyncratic space, to be sure, and many of the elements were chosen to meet customer mandates... I'd surmise there's more to this room, which actually appears to me to be more of a multi-purpose type of space than a library, than we see... While I'd guess there's more seating out of view, for those looking for more functional library like features, there is a round table and chairs and what looks to be a sort of cushy banquette toward the back of the room, near what appears to be a wine cabinet...
