Luminara Remote Control Battery Life

I started ordering Luminara candles for the first time this summer. I have one that I received on August 28th. Today is October 14th, and the batteries in the remote control are dead. Is that normal?

That's an incredibly short battery life. I haven't even turned the candle on that often.

No, that is not normal. I've been using some over 4 years. One I have been using twice a day for over a year.

That is not right ..... too short of a time for the battery in the remote to die ... could it be the batteries in the candle itself & not the battery in the remote ???

@January121 It's definitely the remote. I can turn the candle on with a different remote.

Are the batteries that are dead, the ones that were sent with the remote? If so, there's a chance they are older or not quality batteries. The reason I say that, a few years ago we got a motion sensor faucet. Our contractor and DH were messing around with it for several hours and couldn't get it to work. I said "maybe the batteries are dead". Of course I couldn't have been on to something as they both grumbled it came with new batteries, blah blah blah. After additional colorful language, and a long phone call to customer service to trouble shoot why my fancy faucet wasn't working, they tested the batteries. Sure enough, the batteries were junk.

Long story short, the first thing we do with things that come with batteries, test them first, lol!

@Mellyg Yes, it's the battery that came with the remote. I thought it might just not be a good battery.

Men need to listen to women in your case! What a lot of time that would have saved.

@NickNack .... Hi ... I would try one more thing before buying a new battery... open the battery cover & check the battery to see if there is anything like corrosion or lint/dirt interfering with the connection ... clean the battery & replace ... if it still doesn’t work then I guess you need to buy a new battery 🙃

Ive had my remotes for years and years even used the old remotes for my new Luminaras and they work with the new candles too....

Depending on the cost of the remote batteries, sometimes its cheaper to buy a new remote....and I see the Luminara remotes at Hobby Lobby.....

@Spurt I've probably got five remotes, and I only need two. I'm not going to buy new batteries anytime soon. I just thought it was really odd that a basically new remote would need new batteries. I hoped that wasn't a sign that I was going to be replacing them all the time. 😊

To me what you experienced is a sign that Luminara's quality may be declining....
