Doesn't come up on my computer. When you speak of rugs what do you mean? We hate carpeting and have none in our home.

I live in a Historic town and these floor cloths have been around for hundred's of years. The beauty of this is that they do wear, but they then take on a different look when that happens.

These were the alternative when woven wool rugs were not available to protect floors.

@lolakimono So this isn't painted hardwood/flooring?

It's looks like a mat of some kind. Wondering what it's made of.

I'm no longer a fan of rugs, we are bare floored and loving it.

The only *rugs* we have are bath mats that can be washed. Don't even want cloth/fabric of any kind at my doorways. I use mats from MacKenzie-Childs that can be wiped down---they are great. And made in the USA.

These pics remind me of the M-C mats.

I don't know, it depends on the material used for the floor cloth... For the most part, I think I'd just prefera rug, though I do like the first (and 4th) cloth shown here. The other two, while well done, don't appeal to me, but then nothing in that second room appeals to me.

I have a feeling they'd be a major PIA, sliding and shifting all over the place with an edge that would be easy to trip over. Remember the mats QVC used to sell? I nearly broke my neck tripping on the edge of one of those.

Great idea, especially in nice climates.

In colder climates, actual rugs/carpets keep rooms warmer.

Also, it's probably costly to have a professional apply the proper paint and patterns.

But, otherwise, I like the creativity and looks. Especially in kitchen, dining rooms, entryways, and hallways.

Interesting.

I kind of like them for a kitchen or at entry doors. I wonder if they’d be easier or worse to clean than traditional rugs. I’m also wondering how they hold up to wear & tear.

I like them. Years ago at an art show there was a vendor selling floor cloths..they were very nice. I didn't pick one up that year figuring I'd buy one the following year...sadly she did not attend the show that year. I always regret not buying one.

Floor cloths are are hand painted on canvas with a non slip backing.

You wipe down to clean.

'Oh, gee'............I was initially thinking that the patterns were/are painted on the actual floor.

I guess I didn't read the O/P's thread, and/or didn't look closely enough at the photos.

I'll have to go back and review the photos.
