Country Western Kitchen

Does this appeal to you?

I have very few country style pieces in my home, and I don’t use western decor at all in my home design or decorating,

I like the stonework around the stove & refrigerator area and the reddish orange color of the cabinets. I like the wooden ceiling beams, but I don’t like them as posts for the island. The floor looks nice, but I’m not sure it’s practical. I wish the bar chairs were more comfortable.

I’m not a fan of the metal awning, slidling barn door, or copper light fixtures. The bull head has to go.

There are so many home decors that I like that I couldn't live with. I really like this kitchen, but then again, I wouldn't want it in my home. Not a lot of work space, either.

It has "good bones", then gets too cutesy with the awning, barn door, bull and antler lamp. Barstools give me a backache just to look at them.

The metal awning and bull head would have to go but otheriwse the kitchen would be nice in my vacation mountain cabin...overlooking a lake of course!

It's OK if you're having a meal at Texas Roadhouse but definitely not my style for my home.

@wilma I have never been drawn to "country western" at all. There is laminate flooring that looks like this floor, but with the cost in this room, it's most likely wood.

Those posts would be a nightmare to clean if a meal was cooked in there on a daily basis.

I do not like the bull head or the uncomfortable looking chairs. While not my style, the rest is nice for the most part.

I think they nailed the design according to the title. I like most of it (not the animal head.) And it fits all who live the country western life.

Myself, as much as I think the pic is nice, I would tire of the look before long. My heart remains with the coastal / cottage styles.

It wouldn't be one of my top choices, but I would like it much better without the added wood to the island.

Hi @wilma !

In THAT setting, in THAT home - I really think it works beautifully.

But you need the right space and lifestyle for the theme to be laid on that thick...that said - I still really like it.

I like your sense of humor. I bet there are a few members here who aren't familiar with the Ponderosa and Hop Sing. It sounds we might have grown up in the same decade.
