Blue & Gold Living Room

What do you think?

I would like this better without the gold touches. I like to use gold with deep red and green for decorations at Christmas, but I don’t like it with blue.

I like the architectural details on the wall. The built-in is nice, but seems sparsely filled to me, and again, I don’t like the gold trim. I like the blue vases. The furniture, pillows, & artwork are ok. I don’t like the tile top tables, the small glass table, the weird eggshell thing, or the chandelier.

I like blue and gold when mixed with other colors, like in Talavera pottery, but those colors remind me of something else I can't abide.

I don't mind the blue with the gold touches. I just not a fan of the table. It seems to heavy for the room.

I don't care for the room at all. I think it looks cold. I usually think gold warms things up but no in this case. The tiled tables are really odd in what sort of looks like a formal living room.

My husband went to OSU, so I had to show him your response, and he got a chuckle. He said, "I'm not the only one!"

My brothers went there (one "attended" and one graduated), but since I too was raised in Ohio there is a natural aversion to those colors.

Yes, I would prefer all silver accents as opposed to the gold.

I pretty much don't like anytihing about it... The built-in itself is nice looking, but I don't care for the items chosen for display.

I have gray, ivory, and shades of blue/seaglass in my livingroom. I recently added 2 gold ceramic lamps with pale blue linen shades. I like gold with most any color, including blues

My LR is blue/ gold but I have a lot of blue and white chinoiserie pots...the cold is in a huge antique mirror and lamps. Not caring for the room in the picture at all. Too sterile looking for me.

With the exception of the gold (I dislike gold in all decor) I like the colors used. But that's as far as my liking this room goes.

I do like the blue with gold but the room is so formal kind of like a very posh waiting room needs some warmth.

@stevieb I didn't go to "The" Ohio State University or Univ. of Michigan. But my husband went to OSU and his brother went to Michigan. The rivalry can get a bit tiresome after all these years! And everytime my husband wears an Ohio State T-shirt in public,the "O-H", "I-O" chants start. I just roll my eyes internally and ignore it.
