I recently had my first GE washer delivered about a month ago. I almost got a Whirlpool, but saw @Pooky1's older posts about the GE washer with the option to choose the water level. I missed that feature since buying my previous washer, a Maytag.

I chose the level for my first load, but I've used the Precise Fill for the rest so far. I was able to open the lid to see how the loads were doing letting the washer choose, I couldn't before, and it's working out well. My laundry even looks cleaner. But I know there will be times that I will want to make the choice.

I'm also a fan of GE appliances. My GE smooth top stove is 14 years old and still going strong. My old Sears washer and dryer "died" a couple of years ago, so I bought new GE to replace the old. Love them and never have a problem with them.

My house was new construction and came with new GE basic appliances in the kitchen.

I replaced the dishwasher and the refrigerator with GE because there was a store here who sold only GE and could deliver same day.

I've been happy with all of them.

I finally replaced my stove after 27 years because I wanted a glass top and convection and went with Maytag since the hardware store that sold GE got out of the appliance business. And now the Maytag store is gone, the couple who owned it for 40 years have decided to retire and their kids have no interest.

While the GE washer we bought is top load, has an agitator and lets me pick the water level, I still have to "lie" to it because it's still really not enough water to cover the load.

It also goes out of balance A LOT.

I'm really not crazy about it
