Neutral Bedroom

I think this bedroom looks nice and relaxing. I like the mixture and warmth of the neutral tones. Most of the furnishings & accessories suit me.

Not loving the skirt on the bottom of the bed dragging on the floor. I would want to add a bit of non neutral colors by switching out the pillows and changing the artwork over the bed.

Nice furniture pieces but I'm not a neutral sort of person about anything. I couldn't stand this blah color scheme. It would cause me great anxiety

@wilma I have an extra bedroom that I've done in all neutrals, shades of ivory. I love it. I have different textures in the drapes, etc. I used it as a dressing room when I don't have guests.

I like it but I am not a fan of drapes and bed skirts - too much dust!

It looks lovely, but almost too calm, even for a bedroom.

I rather like what they did with the curtains, and I'm always a fan of no footboard plus a bench or something a dog can use to jump up onto, especially if the dog is smaller and can't jump directly onto the bed.

But, as much as I rather like a bedskirt that looks like this, anyone who does their own vacuuming would not have one this low because it would get caught up anytime you wanted to vacuum under the bed, And it's just a lot of trouble to lift it up every time. The annoyance outweighs the look.

Too formal and too much furniture for my taste. But I love the neutrals.

I'd love to do my whole house in those shades.

The chair looks comfortable! Otherwise, every other element--chandelier, drapes, tufted headboard, etc,--as well as the color is a big NO for me.

Very nicely done but too neutral for me. Hate the bed skirt but do like the bed/bedding .

Yes, I think this room, with its high ceilings and spacious, neutral vibe is very nice. If I were to have a "magazine" bedroom, it would be similar to this. Personally, however, I prefer to have a bedroom used only for sleeping--a bed, a window, a nightstand, nothing else--and use my space for when I'm awake. I'd LOVE to have an old-fashioned sleeping porch!

Absolutely beautiful! My dark wood rice bed and marble topped night stand tables would look great in here too. I love the all beige look!

I, also, like most of the room. For the most part, I find it calming & relaxing. Maybe add a couple pops of color somewhere such as the side table & other tables.

I'd make a few changes, no bed skirting & change the bench. I'm never a fan of drapes, but I think they'd be nicer if they were more "flowy."

I love the picture but can't really tell what it is. Seems to be a coastal seagrass landscape? Or is that wishful thinking on my part?

It's a lovely room and while it is, to me, on the bland side, it manages not to look cookie cutter, like so many of the neutral transitional rooms featured all to often in shelter magazines. This one has a bit more style. I like most of the elements quite a bit. Now, if they'd just replace that nothing special 'hotel' art with something special it could be a wow...

@wilma The length of the bed ruffle is probably to add in some softness, as is the shawl draped on the bench.

The headboard has defined corners which work against softness.

This is probably meant to be a mainly tailored room with a touch of softness.

I would remove the bed skirt and add some more natural wood to bring some more neutral tone and definition to the room.

Thanks to @stevieb for the word 'bland'.

I couldn't think of the proper word without sounding too *saucy*.

Looks like a comfy B&B bed. Fine for an overnite stay, of course.

Don't mind a monotone look, but not for my bedroom.

Not only do I dislike the bedskirt (and I do like crisp linen bedskirts), cannot stand the way the drapery rods are hung so high over the windows.

@wilma It is a pretty room, but I think it would be even prettier and look more relaxing with some additional color. For me, it would need shades of blue, with a pretty seascape over the bed.

I don't use bedskirts or drapes because they're dust magnets. I like all neutrals but would never do an off white carpet. It's not practical.It's difficult to keep clean & to expensive to replace often.

I would also replace the chandelier with a lighted ceiling fan.

Serene, pretty! I agree with you, @wilma -- I'd change the artwork out for something more colorful. I'd personally choose a punchy abstract, which I think would introduce just enough energy and interest, but not be too electrifying in a bedroom. The throw or the bench and the secondary throw pillows could also introduce some interesting color and pattern, maybe in a dusty aqua or soft terra cotta or medium blue....
